No hope at revering climate change that's already happened. But loads of opportunity to slow down future rises.

I predict "Net Zero" to be the buzz word of the next decade

I have so little faith of that happening to be honest. Every time something is mooted, some **** or lobby starts roaring. I honestly don't think the political will is there, and I don't think the normal joe soap has any interest in giving up luxuries for the sake of the planet. I don't see any way out of this.

I'm going to be dead in 40 years, maybe less, so I struggle to care TBH. Climate change isn't the only issue. Overpopulation is just as much of an issue when it comes to helping the planet and nobody seems to want to address that either.

Question for everyone, what would you be willing to do for the environment?

- go veggie 5 days a week?
- sell the second car or cycle to work?
- limit yourself to one flight per year?

No to all of the above.

I'd happily support any sanctions on Chinese imports though, considering they emit more CO2 in a day that we do in a year.

It's for those reasons I find it hard to buy into any major changes. It will mean nothing unless the whole globe act together.

They are kinda a big country so that would be why. Would you support the same sanctions on the US?

Chinas population is nearly 300 times bigger than ours.
365 days in a year.

China's emissions per capita rates are in line with Japan, Greenland, the Netherlands and Germany. I'd support sanctions on US imports too, but they are at least decreasing their emissions. When one country is responsible for 30% of CO2 emissions, it's hard to ask paddy down the road to sell his car.

Qatar has half the population and 3 times the emissions.

Two multi fuel stoves in the house and oil heating I certainly wouldn’t be thinking of the environment if I was cold in the winter. Not too much alternatives. Rip the whole house apart, insulate and change to air to water would be too expensive.
