Agreed. Most of the Cliftonville team have already had some background in professional football. Brush ( Coventry ), Breen ( Man City ), Harney ( West Ham ), Bagnall ( Sunderland-he is still friendly with Conor Hourihane from their time there ), McCrudden ( Newcastle ), Chris Curran ( Man Utd ), Gormley ( Peterborough ), also some of the subs and reserves who didn't play last night. Some outstanding young players coming through at the club.

Good opening win against big spending Glentoran. Match wasn’t the greatest but result all that counts. Great to be back at Solitude

Failed to get ticket because of website balls-up so paid for the stream, which was actually very good quality. Hilarious too, you could hear every swear word and abuse of ref and Glentoran players in crystal clear quality LOL. Poor commentator eventually gave up apologising. First half was rank stuff, but Reds much better after break.

2-300 I’d say
Big derby on Friday away to the Crues who look strong on paper. Being streamed on BBC Sport NI, may also be on BBC2

The first North Belfast derby tonight with The Reds taking on Crusaders. Being streamed on BBC iPlayer and BBC Sport app. Will be interesting to see if new signing from Cork Daire O'Connor gets a run out, the only real new signing that they have made this year. Will be a good barometer to see if they can challenge for honours this year

They also signed centre back Ryan O'Reilly in the summer, he's a former Ireland youth international who spent five years at Stoke. The derby games against the Crues are usually pretty fierce and well attended in more normal times. Some bad weather forecast for later which might be a factor.

That was shocking tonight, 4-0 loss at home to Ballymena. Terrible throughout the pitch. Something needs changed

Three losses on the bounce. Poor enough against Dungannon Swifts, unlucky at Larne to be fair, but that last night was woeful. Think they had one attempt on goal and that was in last few minutes when they hit post. Not good.

Six or seven of the first team squad out injured at the moment. There are some very talented youngsters coming through the ranks but there is not the strength in depth at first team level of the rich clubs in the league.
