Fair play to him he's done very well since getting back into the Newcastle first 11.

The benefit of Brucey playing with 3 centre backs every week has worked in Clark's favour big time.

In fairness, the stat came up on Final Score earlier that 7 of Newcastle's last 9 goals have been scored by defenders.

Rafa played 3 CBS too

He's done well alright but I think he'll probably drop out when Lejeune is back fit

I never said he didn't, I merely said he's benefited by Bruce playing with 3 cb's Wink

Bruce went with a back 4 and it backfired spectacularly earlier on in the season and then reverted back to the 5 which Clark has benefited from.

Anyhow, good to see him playing week in week out.

If McCarthy is smart he'll play a back 5 of Stevens, Clark Duffy, Egan, Doherty v Denmark....all on form right now and all playing in that formation for their clubs....Stevens is arguably the best lest sided player the PL right now..could make an argument that Egan is the up there for CB's too

It’s some achievement by him, especially as he doesn’t seem to have played as a full-back yet this season!

His club performances will have no bearing on how he plays for us, if his previous caps are anything to go by. And the same applies to all our players, with the possible exception of McGoldrick.

Just listening to a Newcastle fan on the local phone in and he said that Ciaran has been a massive miss and a big factor in their last three defeats as he'd been playing very well before being out.
