Straight from the Peterborough forum;
"Forrester had a really good debut. Folk around me we're impressed.
Look forward to seeing him again on Saturday."
I won the Player of the Century award thanks to the people.Pele was second. He also came second behind Aryton Senna as Brazil's greatest sportsman. The award FIFA gave Pele isn't worth sh*t - Maradona

"Forrester was probably our best player until injury robbed us of his services."

Seems to have fit in well in league one football with his two goals already and good performances.Could be a championship footballer next season if peterborough can build on recent performances

Think this should be moved to the Republic if Ireland section as he is no longer a loi and could possibly warrant a call up within a few years.

Seems to have settled really well into league one football and according to reports had another good game yesterday in peteboroughs 4-0 win over doncaster

THAT is why we signed erhun oztumer! Him and forrester (hope he's ok) ran it today, elder quality, Bostwick solid.

Posh are absolutely head and shoulders above these. Chris Forrester the best player on the pitch by a country mile. Outstanding.

@DMAC102 - thoughts on Chris Forrester? Looks absolute quality to me - could be next Posh to Prem? #properposhareback

Peterborough's Chris Forrester the next Michael Carrick - Westley

Peterborough midfielder Chris Forrester has the potential to be as good as England and Manchester United's Michael Carrick, says Posh boss Graham Westley.

The ex-Republic of Ireland Under-21 man, 22, has two goals in 13 games.

"There's so much Michael Carrick in him it's scary," said Westley.

"You look at the likes of Carrick, an intelligent player, reads the game brilliantly well, owns, keeps and passes the ball in the right way - he's got so many of the characteristics."

Westley added to BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "Could you see him being even better? He probably gets more goals than Carrick - he's a great player in the making."

Carrick v Forrester

Michael Carrick (aged 34)

Chris Forrester (aged 22)

International caps: 33 England

International caps: Two Republic of Ireland Under-21

Selected honours: Five Premier League titles, One Champions League, One League Cup, Manchester United Players' Player of the Year 2012-13

Selected honours: One League of Ireland title, One FAI Cup, Two St Patrick's Athletic Player of Year, 2012 PFAI Young Player of the Year

Forrester joined League One Posh from St Patrick's Athletic in Augustand has played in all eight matches since Westley replaced Dave Robertson as manager.

"You look at the stats from last weekend's game (against Doncaster), he was up near the 70-pass mark," said Westley.

"I think he's got a lot more in him as he learns the diamond shape and improves his physical condition he'll get on the ball even more.

"We've seen what he can do in terms of arriving in the box and scoring goals, we've seen his passing, he's such a composed individual, he's a cracking player."

Were 2-0 up until he went off and ended up losing 3-2. According to their fans the game turned as soon as forrester went off.
"we struggled as soon as Forrrester went off injured early second half"
"I do blame the fact our midfield disappeared Forrester going off"
"When Forrester went off, so did Posh"

Peterborough fans made out with him.

Still can't believe we let him slip through the cracks.

Peterborough already valuing Forrester at ""way over"" 3 million pounds and that to a championship side . If he has another gear in him he could go to a prem outfit , I recon he will AND seeing him represent Ireland will be fantastic . Sat a few rows up from him a few seasons back in dalyer when Rovers u19 played there and he had a great relationship with the local plant life even tho he was a junky by that time . Hope he makes full use of his obvious talent - good luck .

Obviously it's in the chairman's interest to talk up the value of one of his players, but it does seem he's had a really good season with Peterborough so far. They've been hovering around the bottom of the play-off places for a few months. Hopefully they can keep it up and push to get into the Championship. I've always thought Forrester had the talent to be an international one day, once he keeps applying himself he can do it.

Linked with QPR, burnley and brentford so could see himself in the premier league if it went his way. Chairman has admitted it was daylight robbery and says he is the best passer/player that he has ever signed. Think they might also be looking at desmond and hoare from pats as well.

Some fan opinions
"From his first game he's been outstanding. Brilliant balance, makes (in the main) the correct decisions, good engine and seems to be a very popular member of the squad with both players and fans alike.
Got any more?"

"Fitted into the team straight away, fantastic vision on and off the ball. Quality signing!"

"Chris Forrester is coming on very well and continues to improve each and every game he plays. Very much has a big future. Well done Posh on another good scouting spot."

"I said it on my first viewing of the lad at sarfend.
We have got one there.
Well balanced, hard working, skilful and keen to improve even more."

"First Half (of the season) Star Player. One could make a legitimate case for half a dozen individuals. My choice is Forrester. Arrival in a foreign country, separation from family, stepping up a level or two in class, fitting into a new team, adjusting to a new system/position: any one of these factors might have excused a slow start. Instead, he’s brought to the team a calm composure, a confidence and situational awareness that are a joy to behold. I think Freddie Hill would admire Forrester’s game."

Delighted for him and hope he continues to improve. The issue with him when he was in LOI was that he lacked consistency. He has all the talent in the world but he would have really poor spells for a few games. But when he is on form, he is fantastic to watch. Hopefully the set up in Posh suits him and he can kick on and keep getting better.

Fair play to him, surprised he still looks like a junkie despite leaving Dublin though! Certainly has adapted well. Hopefully will get to see him before the season's end

Since Pats and other LOI clubs couldn't get a big transfer fee because of short LOI contracts , you would have to hope they could negotiate some kind of clauses for possible future fees as some have done in the past.

Very hard to negotiate anything at all. If there is only 1 or 2 clubs interested in a player and there is only a few months left on a contract then getting a decent sell-on-clause or bonuses can be very difficult unfortunately.
