I remember being very disappointed when I saw Ibrahima Bakayoko play for Everton. I was expecting to see the next Maradona.

00/01 and 01/02 is known for 1 player, who ended up being the all time greatest disappointment - Freddy Adu.

I don't remember him in either game. And seeing as he was only 11 in 2001, I'm not surprised! |

Could sign him from when he was 14 on 1 of the games! Don't recall it being 04 or 05 either!

To Madeira . The Portuguese legend.
Tony, as i would call him (giving my post match interviews). He was a machine. He would have just turned 39 in Feb. Edited by randyrandolph - 18 Apr 2018 at 3:19pm |

Wasn't To Maderia the lad who wasn't actually real ?
Was one of the scouts for Portugal who slipped himself into the game unnoticed |

I think so.
Maxim Tsigalko was a great player, too. |

Yeah some lad that played for the Portuguese team as youth player and was tasked with game development of players there made him up. His holiday destination that year was Madeira.... “To Madeira” was born! Maxim unreal but hard to get initially due to work permit.

Imagine if there were any YBIGGers who were actually featured on the game. It wouldn't matter that their stats were outrageously and unfairly ranked as low or that their value was less than the price of a weekend in Grimsby. Plus, there were no points for beauty and charisma which was a clear oversight on their part. The researchers should be held to account for that. Still though, what an achievement it would be to be a young lad on Championship Manager.

Tonton Zola Moukoko on CM 99/00 was probably my favourite footballer of all time - real or fictional.

My abiding memory of 01/02 Champ manager was signing Taribo West and Pep Guardiola on free transfers for every single team I ever managed.
