I think i preffered the game before VAR more. I didnt mind the odd variance here and there. Apart from the corrupt night in paris.

I just had a look and he seems onside. Only his arm looks off and doesn't the new rule state it has to be a part of the body you can score with?

The cynic in me thinks it would have been allowed at the other end.

No it wouldn't. But it didn't happen down the other end in any case. 

Correct decision of course. That's what it's for. If a goal isn't valid now, it doesn't count. Sky went ballistic about it apparantly taking almost 3 minutes to get the decision right. And their pundit said he needed 10 replays to see why it was overturned. I needed one.

Of course I'm hopelessly biased, but that's not how I saw it.

That is, they didn't lose their shape or concentration, didn't make obvious errors, nor didn't ever give up.

It seemed to me that Spurs somehow found a higher gear, including scoring three great goals.

I was still impressed by Dortmund, they looked a much tighter proposition than in the two games we beat them last season, for instance.

And although I'm pretty confident we'll have enough to go through to the last 8, I'm sure they'll give it their all in the return leg.

Indeed, were they to score the opening goal at any stage in the first hour, it would likely require a "backs to the wall" display from Spurs to see the job through.

From my limited knowledge of football I know one thing, you should always judge a players ability based on the only game you've seen him play.
