Exactly why I despise Celtic, a Scottish club bringing out the worst in the locals and Irish people. An excuse for Irishness to be used to excuse bigotry and sectarianism.

Is it? Celtic fan talking about my comment 'backfiring', so didn't read it that way myself.

Clearly it's lighthearted but the fact people think it's okay to call someone a 'hun basta' and a 'prod', even in jest, for having a go at their team says a lot.

Only for a shock result in Germany, Celtic were out.  A home game requiring 1 point to guarantee progress and they were awful blowing their chance. Rangers on the other hand dominated their game and went out. How can Celtic be so inconsistant with performances particularly with certain players.

I could agree with you but then we'd both be wrong.

Celtic were very poor last night, no question about that, but you do realise the gap between the level of opposition. Diabetes FC are 25 points clear of Rapid in the Austrian league.
Celtic should be competitive with them, the budgets are similar and I would ask a lot of questions of Rodgers again last night, but that has f**k all to do with Rangers dominating an awful side and still losing.

Did Rapid get off to a slow start?  Not like them.

In the wonderful and exciting world of modern football, that is the good times for Celtic, unfortunately. European football after Christmas, although preferably from getting to the heady heights of third in the Mastercard and McDonald's super cup would have been a better way to do it. The chances of that will be limited too as UEFA want the same teams reaching each stage of the tournament in the name of progress.

Fair points, same will apply to Irish clubs now and the Europa League 2, chanaces of getting EL much slimmer.

Same as every other group of fans who get that ridiculous moniker.

Flicked on the Leipzig game for the last 5 minutes and there was hardly anyone at the match

Did they just leave early or were they never there?

You'd think as a City fan you'd be used to the sight of an empty stadium by now

Fair play to Celtic. They were sh*te last night but got through and that's all that matters. I'd imagine Leipzig have a much bigger budget and are playing vastly superior teams every week so to finish above them is a very good achievement.

Still don't know how Salzburg managed to blow it against Red Star in the Champions League playoffs. They're a much better side than them.
