Is this still going to happen now - Apparently England are wanting to be involved which is a joke - arrogance of the highest order as when they looked like qualifying they dismissed it as below them

Talksport  radio in England are even doing a petition in (see link) to SOS (Save our summer) - not even a mention of ROI and it was our idea

Can't see it happening with England involved, they will get a big money tour probably and in my opinion thats good enough for them

The initial idea of this Celtic cup was to be over two years i thought, not just a summer tournament

Spot on, let England go do one - spend summer as special presenters on BBC! Plus hearing God save the Queen at Croke Park was hard enough to stomach when it was prawn snadwich rugby goers, let alone a group of neanderthals who would follow it up with no surrender!

I agree they are arrogant pr1cks .. and elsewhere on the bbc site they were discussing a home nations competition i.e. without us in it .

However I think any proposed tournament would be more interesting with them in it .. think of the enjoyment of stuffing them every 2 years.

I'd prefer them in it as well - just to get the chance to witnesss such a game but for them to slate the Celtic Cup says it all about that shower

Article here from the BBC website whichis bacisally saying its a bad idea and wont attract crowds. It has all the the allure of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy, apparently. I totally disagree with this. Yes the games will be friendlies but they will have a competitive nature due to the local rivalry. Personally, im really looking forward to it and i'll be at every game to support my country.

It shouldn't be knocked before it's tried.  I had reservations about the Setanta Cup (or Santy Cup as it's affectionately known) but that has become quite prestigious now on both sides of the border.  Try the Celtic Cup, hopefully it's a success and tell the FA to F*ck off if they try muscle in on it when it's the success it definitely can be.
We'll never die, we'll never die, we'll keep the Green Flag flying high......Shamrock Rovers will never die, we'll keep the Green Flag Flying high. 19 Leagues and 25 Cups.....
