Neil Lennon wants to bring Shane Long Long to Paradise in the Summer according to the Daily Ranger. I would be happy with that buy. Thumbs%20Up
TJ Doyles,Sunderland probably the best Irish pub in the world.

Terrible move for him. Celtic have enough strikers and don't need him.
A move to the premiership would be best for Shane.

At the minute he's the big fish in the small pond. Love to see him move to the EPL would be great for him, we need more players playing in the top level and playing first team.

Yeah, good move for Celtic - not so great for Long. If he keeps playing the way he is, he'll end up in the Prem soon enough. Thumbs%20Up

Reading are 9 points off the play-offs but he'd still be better off staying there if Reading don't go up and no EPL comes in for him. He his comfortable there and scoring goals - no point in going to Celtic for him.

I'd like to see him playing in a good Celtic side who will more than likely be playing CL football next year.

Every up and coming player's main ambition is to play CL football, Long isn't good enough to be snapped up by one of the premier league big 5 or 6 so Celtic is the only place he is likely to get this. Therefore theres every point in him going there

I think Shane would be a good signing for the Bhoys should be aiming for a least 4 quality forwards.

How is there a point? He would be behind Hooper, Samaras and Stokes. And that's presuming he is scoring goals. Why risk being an established championship player on the off chance he will become a bit-player in the SPL? This move may make sense for Celtic (they would get a good back up striker) but it wouldn't make sense for Shane Long. In terms of the CL is it not true the Scottish league winners still have to play a qualifier to make the competition proper? It is not certain they would qualify or, if they did, that Long would even feature.

I think he's good enough to get a starting place at celtic, he's a better player than Stokes im my opinion

Not sure i'd agree with that, but what really matters is Lennon's opinion. I just couldn't see Long getting starts every week with the other options Celtic have.

Long is still fairly young dont see the point in him leaving reading at the moment he is doing well there and scoring goals regularly- If he keeps it up reading might get promoted or he might secure a decent move to an epl team- no point going up to celtic now to sit on the bench
It took City 44 years to win the league and 10 months to lose it
