Not really one that will register this side of the world, but New Zealand comedian John Clarke passed away over the weekend. Brilliant satirist who had a long career on Australian TV. Some might remember this clip, it went viral after somebody thought it was real news, but he has absolutely loads of this type of stuff (a lot of it relating to Australian politics so the humour is lost if you are unfamiliar with their politicians) and always adopted the same smart arse, sarcastic, belligerent persona in these spoof interviews.

First saw this fella when I lived in Australia in 2000, the state channel ABC had a fantastic series called ''The Games'' which was basically about the government committee organising the Sydney Olympic games, SOCOG - in reality a huge government organisation, but for comedy purposes, re-imagined by ABC to be just 4 people, of which Clarke was the main man being followed by a TV crew for 'documentary' purposes.

This clip is from when the lads discover the 100 metres track isn't actually 100 metres long, and call in the builder for an explanation.

RIP.

He was excellent on the Chappelle show.
Shocked to hear this he must have been pretty young. Didn't know he had leukaemia.

It was lost on me as I didn't know who James was either, I assumed it was a comedy partner, I have since found out he is the fella who wrote 'super freak', up there withe 'centrefold' in the awful song stakes!

In fairness the few sketches I have seen from the Dave Chappelle show were excellent, I should watch some more of it.
