Whatever people think of Gerry Adams handled it brilliantly and Byrne was very unprofessional that night. Standing up and talking down to him, refusing to shake his hand when he's a guest on his show.

Dublin is the capital of indignation
Loved Tobin a master of the funny story. His one about the cute cork hoor and the mean Cavan bastard was classic.

KHe had a wonderful way with words, there were few better at reeling off a poignant sentence or chipping in with a cutting remark. The first thing I will forever think of when hearing the name Barbara Cartland is his remark that her eyes resembled the carcass of ‘two small crows that had crashed against the White Cliffs of Dover’.

Clive James' heyday was before my time but I've greatly enjoyed watching his old shows on YouTube and reading his essays and reviews.
Here's a great example of his writing, a magnificent demolition of Dan Brown. Very funny and true.
