I'm not having a dig at Kelleher, there is no doubt that Klopp rates him highly and hopefully he gets a few opportunities over the course of the year (which I think he will).
But for me Bazunu is Ireland's number one on merit and I don't see that changing any time soon.

Think it’s worth pointing out Adrian was comfortably ahead of Randolph at West Ham. While he has been a disaster at Liverpool, that highlights the pressure of playing for a club of that magnitude and further enhances kellehers potential

Adrian was exposed after a run of games. Kelleher has never had that run of games to suffer similar.
As someone said above, in order to praise one, we don't have to criticize the other. Both are excellent keepers with great potential. However, it's merit that separates them at the moment, and that lies in Bazunu's favour.

Are we all going to just ignore the fact Kelleher is third choice keeper at Liverpool and Adrian started ahead of him at weekend?

If he was third choice they'd have sent him out on loan. Might have been better for him long term in some ways. The fact he was kept means he almost certainly remains second choice but I suppose we won't find out for definite until Allison misses a game.

Klopp has been pretty unequivocal about this - Kelleher is the #2 goalkeeper at Liverpool!

Plays tomorrow night all going well. Latest chapter in the battle of the promising young Irish keepers! Looking forward to seeing him in action I must say.

Probably facing Idah... as a Corkman what do I want there, goals or a cleansheet?

My only disagreement with that would be who do we have that can play the way Idah does for the senior team. But he really needs to be starting games. The lads turning 21 this season but seems like Farke still has the kids gloves on with him in his development. |
