Anyone any info on the above?? We have a late recruit and its too late to book him on the train. Hoepfully we might get a seat when we get there but if not id like to have a bus ticket to fall back on. Any info appreciated.
Being Irish, he had an abiding sense of tragedy which sustained him through temporary periods of joy.

Yes you can show up without a ticket for the VIENNA AIRPORT LINES bus, but the bus will only take you when all the pre-booked passengers have arrived and there are empty seats left right before the departure of the bus (they do not allow standing), and the number of busses sent en-route is dispatched according to the bookings Unhappy. So you could be lucky, and they take you because they are not full, or you might be unlucky and one bus after the other is full and you are waiting for hours ...

EUROLINES requires prebooking in any case, as they sometimes simply send a bigger cab or a minibus instead of the big bus when they don´t get enough bookings in !

In the worst case you can still take a cab, e.g. this company from Bratislava www.taxibratislava.eu , they take 1800 SKK or € 55 for up to 4 people, and if you ring them from the airport, they can pick you up within 1 hour, or you order them in advance, The phone No. is +421 907 930300, they speak English.

If you want to avoid the bus, you can also get a transfer car from Schwechat from these folks, www.rosenov.at , they take € 37.- for Vienna Airport - Bratislava city for up to 4 pers., but it has to be ordered 48h  in advance the number is +43 1 4857777 (they speak English), they also offer Vienna city - Bratislava City, the guy who does the evening shifts wasn´t sure about the price, but he thinks its € 69 for a car for 4, but again, has to be ordered 48h in advance, thats Austrian cab-licence law, as they are officially only a rental-car company that supplies drivers as well, but they have a good reputation.

Had a quick look but there dosent seem to be anything in English. My adivce would be to visit the train and bus stations soon after you get there and you should be able to sort something out. Thats waht i'll be doing as i havent booked the train.

Thats a train search engine from our Austrian Railway company, but you can also search other connections on it like Bratislava - Praha (Czech for Prague): http://www.oebb.at/vip8/oebb/en/index.jsp

And thats the buscompany operating between Bratislava and Prague, unfortunatly their English link is broken, but thats the phone-number: +421 2 5557 7485, I am fairly sure with a bit of patience they will find somebody that speaks English, www.slovaklines.sk

Hope thats some help !
