What are people’s thoughts on when they die ?

Cremation I suspect is gaining popularity - going that way when the time comes

I'd probably leave it up to the kids to decide what they'd prefer.

Cremation seems to be the way the world is going.
Though it's also worse for environment with the Co2 emissions.
Being recycled will gain traction at some stage I'd say

What ever happened to a good auld burial at sea?

Irish fans are very tight so I’d say a lot will be going the cremation route as it’s a good bit cheaper

Cremation. My father was cremated and my mother wants to be cremated. No worrying then about who'll look after your grave as the years go on.

I am claustrophobic, so the thought of being buried in a coffin in the ground fills me with the absolute fear, even though I will be dead.

My mother says the exact same thing. I might be dead but the thoughts of being stuck in that small box six feet under with maggots crawling around me is a no no.

Wants her ashes thrown into the ocean off the cliffs in Kilkee.

This thread reminds me of the infamous caller into 2fm.

Gerry Ryan: (during a discussion on whether people would like to be buried
or cremated when they die) - "Would you like to be buried or cremated?"
Caller: "Oh, buried Gerry."
Gerry Ryan: "And where would you like to be buried?"
Caller: "Up to me balls in Bibi Baskin!"

AKA pedantic kunt

My thoughts on this change regularly! As an athiest maybe it's a bit hypocritical looking to be buried. I like the idea though of some sort of marking and memorial for you though. Maybe cremation and a plaque on a bench would cover bothLOL Suppose family at the time can decide as it will make no odds to me at that stage!

The new thing now and it Will probably have traction in a couple of decades is the memorial tree/Park idea. Chuck the body in starkers into a wicker yoke and bury it with a sapling on top and the tree grows using the body for nutrients. Circle of life!
They finally did it man... They killed my f**kin' car...

I know a girl that when her Mam died, she got cremated and she then got the ashes of her Mam tattooed onto her arm.

Crazy stuff altogether.

It was far across the sea,
When the devil got a hold of me,
He wouldn't set me free,
So he kept me soul for ransom.

If I was getting cremated I'd want me ashes scattered somewhere. Wouldn't want them sitting in an urn om the fireplace, would just be an extra hassle for people to look after.

Remember reading an appeal years ago someone's house was robbed and they were just asking for return of the urn with their dead mothers ashes.
What a headache.
