Not Saudi Arabia Dead

Sure Italy could host it itself anyway. 40 years after Italia 90 as well.
Wings? They're only the band The Beatles could have been.

That Senator got his arse handed to him good and proper with his blether about a "signature stadium" etc.

But he missed his chance for a late consolation goal when the interviewer started rambling on about the British/Irish bid being jusr another Boris Johnson vanity project.

(From Wiki)
In 2015, vice-chairman of The Football Association David Gill stated that his country could potentially bid for 2030, provided that the bidding process was made more transparent. Journalist Ben Rumsby wrote, "England is one of few countries that could stage even a 48-nation event in its entirety, while Football Association chief executive Martin Glenn made it clear earlier that year bidding for 2030 was an option." In June 2017,UEFA's president Aleksander Ceferin stated that Europe (UEFA) would definitely fight for its "turn" to host the World Cup in 2030. The same month, UEFA stated that "it would support a pan-British bid for 2030 or even a single bid from England."

Johnson didn't become PM until July 2019.

Looks like a bid for 2028 Euros will be favoured over a World Cup bid.

Also talk of expanding Euros to 32 teams

I wouldn't like the idea of a 24 team competition being hosted by 5 countries and those counties get an automatic spot. Ok in the eyes of majority of people its just one nation, the UK or more educated its 2 countries, UK and Republic of Ireland. But from a soccer perspective it is 5 so how would it even work. You would imagine everyone still has to qualify, or maybe England as main bidder get the automatic spot. Knowing our luck we would blow it and not qualify for the tournament we are helping to host!

England won’t be getting votes off anyone for a tournament for decades. Brexit and the Euro Final disaster have made sure of that.

This is being knocked on the head tomorrow.

Uefa have said to the fa that a joint bid for euro 2028 is nailed on to succeed. There won't even be a competition, it'll just be awarded to the home nations and Ireland.

2030 will be a great location regardless if they avoid giving it to China or going back to the Middle East.

I'm pretty sure it was intended that England would indeed get the automatic spot, but the others (only contributing one or two stadia each), would have to qualify.

Gone. Focussing on Euro 2028 instead.

Wembley surely wont be getting the final again.

Bad decision

They were encouraged by UEFA to bid in return for dropping the WC bid. UEFA backing the Iberian bid for that

Even putting aside the shenanigans in London last year I'd have been surprised if it had won. I still think with it being the Centenary WC it'll go to the Uruguay/Argrentina/Paraguay/Chile bid. Even it goes to Europe Spain is long overdue a major tournament.

Money talks. Uefa couldn't care less about the trouble last year if it makes them the most money
