Two world class grounds in Madrid, Nou Camp and two other very good grounds in Barcelona, world class ground in Bilbao, three top grounds in Seville. Spain has 11 grounds with a capacity over 40k.6 of those are for 60k. Portugal have three 40k plus grounds. Spain don't need Portugal except that it'll be the expanded tournament

We've nothing to fear. When those FIFA suits see our 2 stadia that both look unfinished on one end and maybe we'll show them a big field for good measure then we have it in the bag

In fairness, one of those two held a Europa League Final, while the other has had the key impediment, broken down, almost 15 years ago and at seated capacity is as good as you'd get at the vast majority of major European venues. It may not go anywhere, but we're a long way from the '08 Bid which would have needed to overcome a major political impediment, the building of an entire venue, and the rebuilding of another one.

I'd say the chances of this winning the bid have dwindled massively after what's been going on in London all day and at Wembley the last few hours.

Zilch I'd say. They have the CL final 23 or 24 after that it'll be a while before they get anything again

I reckon this is dead in the water after yesterday's antics. Ireland should cut its losses now and don't bother investing anymore.

100% gone alright. I look forward to Argentina/Uruguay/Paraguay/Chile who I think were probably favourites before this anyway given it will be centenary and FIFA love that stuff.

Spain and Portugal next in line after that I'd say

I was thinking that myself, mainly due to the actions of England 'fans'. Booing the anthems, violence outside and inside Wembley stadium etc.

None of that matters. FIFA will go to wherever there is the most money to be made. Fears about hooligans, racism, homophobia and human rights didn’t stop them from awarding Russia the tournament in 2018. Commercial considerations will outweigh any ethical or historical concerns.

FIFA have no love for the English. They've a legitimate reason not to give it to them now. AFAIK It'll be also UEFA putting a bid forward instead of multiple bids from European countries. It'll be between the Spain Portugal bid and Argentina,Uruguay, Paraguay bid

What I think is worse is more spectators being vigilantes there.

Those fears about Russia were proven to be completely wrong. One of the safest tournaments ever. The Russians will surely get the euros before too long after their showing.

Just googled it and they're applying for either the 2028 or 2032 tournament.

I'm hearing that Australia and Denmark are considering a rival bid...LOL

Ffs, Saudi Arabia and Italy - imagine us qualifying for that one - 1st match in Riyadh, 2nd match in Turin and a knockout game in Naples. Please someone tell me this is a joke. Wacko
The nation holds it's breath...YES, WE'RE THERE!!!
