The High Court have granted Bray Wanderers' owners a temporary injunction that prevents three individuals from representing themselves in an official capacity on behalf of the club. The three individuals are John Deering, who is a former director and minority shareholder, Paul Lennon, who had an agreement to sell advertising for Bray Wanderers, and the club's former goalkeeper Darren Quigley.
Deering is believed to have represented himself as the club's director, as well as being in a position to take over the running of the club. Lennon and Quigley are supporting Deering in these actions.
The injunction prevents the three men from entering the club's home - the Carlisle Grounds. It also prevents them representing the club; having or attending meetings relating to the club; or publishing any material purporting to be official literature about the club.
According to Bray Wanderers' current owners, the High Court injunction was taken in order to prevent financial and reputational damage to the club.
In an affidavit Bray Chairman Denis O'Connor claimed that minority shareholder Deering was engaged in unlawful activities, such as falsely representing himself to be a director of the company and claiming that he was about to take charge of the team
Saturday's League of Ireland game between Bray Wanderers and Derry City was said to be put in jeopardy when Deering arrived at the ground in the morning with a group claiming to be taking charge of the club's affairs.
After discussions Mr Deering agreed to leave allowing the game to go ahead.
A protest was held by supporters outside the ground before kick-off calling for current chairman O'Connor to step down.
Mr Justice Gilligan said he was satisfied to grant the injunction. The matter will return before the court next week.

The club can't pay all players on time, but can go to the High Court to get an injunction! An injunction usually costa about €35K in legal fees and other charges!!

Last Saturday, counsel said, the game between Bray and Derry City was put in jeopardy when Mr Deering arrived at the ground with a group of others, including Mr Lennon and Mr Quigley, and with two gardai.

Mr Deering represented himself as a director and said he was taking charge of the club's affairs with immediate effect. He claimed that four directors had been removed from the Bray Wanderers company.

Following conversations involving the gardai, the League of Ireland and the FAI, Mr Deering and the others agreed to leave. The game against Derry proceeded.

However counsel said Mr Deering has also given a number of interviews to media to say that he would be taking charge from Monday July 13. Counsel said Mr Deering is not a director nor has he any authority to take charge.

Bray Wanderers Ltd chairman Denis O'Connor said in an affidavit that Mr Deering, of Kilgobbin Road Stepaside, Dublin, is a former director and a small shareholder in the company (with 2.26 per cent)

Mr O'Connor said previously Mr Deering, who said he represented a Northern Irish Company, approached the club concerning a proposed development of offices, retail units and a football stadium.

The proposal was not deemed feasible by the company, Mr O'Connor said. He said Mr Deering continued to communicate with him in a manner he described as "bordering on harassment."

With all this crap going on how is it affecting the other teams in the club are they still training at the Carlisle ground i.e. the U19 and the new U17 squad or are they being put on hold until all this mess is cleared up. Not an ideal time at the present for young players and parents getting introduced to potently their new club where they are going to progress their football careers after leaving regionals centres.

Have the 19 and the 17's lost any of their new player with this debacle I hear the owner of Bray fc met with the parents and players of the new U17 squad last monday week after training  wonder how that went and what they make of all that's happen since.

Don't think it's been affected, it's being taken very seriously. Ownership and board issues shouldn't affect it at all.

Well there has to be a lot of uncertainty for players / parents and coaches nobody wants to sign up to something that could go south after a few weeks especially with other LOI looking for players, have you heard of any changing their minds about signing. Some clubs have already their squads picked for upcoming season.

Wouldn't hear much about underage.

There's plenty of money there, good coaches there, it shouldn't affect those teams or anyone's decision to join them

Right, I'm completely lost about this whole thing, can some please summerise what the feck is actually going on here???

Which is the best consortium, with the best interests of the club at heart?

Whatever you think about Matthews and Crolys abilities as managers, I would see them as two honorable men. The fact they left in the circumstances that they have really stinks

Crolys decision to leave had it do with his own personal ambitions and not getting his way.

Very, very difficult to figure out Who's in which group and which is best for the club. Two bad options, like trying to pick which cousin you'd rather score.

Both could end up as an own goal.

Fcuk sake Nvidic a ride is a ride. Unless it's Alan Matthews, sooner take a bag o' spuds to bed. Croly has a nice Brazilian downstairs to match the buzz-cut. Upstairs Downstairs. Deepthroat at the Carlisle.

1. Got involved when Pats were in the ****s financially. Left with Pats still in the ****s financially.

In between he helped put out a few fires and talked of selling Richmond and moving to Tallaght.

His statement said he left Pats when they were top of the league but they had finished 7th in the 2006 season. Kelleher came on board in that off season (through meeting the Pats chairman, not Mulvey).

2. Bad news for Bray this all but confirms its a land grab. They will out of the Carlise & in a new ground on the edge of town within five years.

:above just some of the comments from pats supporters after this announcement :

Mulvey now comes out as the major shareholder according to rte sport with his good intentions for Bray in the future above is what he not telling in his press release .   Oven into the fire?
