I was asked by a good friend from BH Fanaticos (BHF), the main organized fans' group of Bosnian national team, to share the following news with Irish fans. Here it comes (translated), as published on BHF facebook just 4 hours ago Wink

"BHF with the Pope's blessing going to playoff!

Mujo Halilovic (the guy in the green shirt, a member of BHF), upon invitation from the Pope Francis, went to an official visit to Vatican. During the visit he had the opportunity to meet the Pope.

In a brief conversation Mujo mentioned to the Pope that he was coming from Bosnia and Herzegovina and touched on a little bit on football and the future of our national team in the playoff. The Pope asked if Mujo had any item so he could bless our team. Mujo mentioned our fans' group and told the Pope that we had been following all national teams of Bosnia and Herzegovina and then he took out a scarf of BHF. Pope blessed the scarf which will be there at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin."

So a representative of a fairy tale mutters something over a scarf. I for one am quaking in my boots. Be better off not showing up now.

Met that Tommy Feeley lad and his mate for the first time in Georgia last year. We walked over to the team hotel to get tickets in the searing Tbilisi heat with them.
I was saying to the lads how he reminded me of Johnny Rotten (he's dyed purple short hair) and my mate confided that he never seen a man as hungover in his life.

Anyway I called into the other 'Irish' bar (McClarens) on the way back to the hotel we were in one of the following nights. And literally just as I landed in for a pint, he was belting the Sex Pistols GTSQ out on the karaoke.

Wings? They're only the band The Beatles could have been.
