It's a laughing stock of a tournament.

Except that the higher PL teams generally do take it seriously after getting past the first couple of rounds.

And half the remaining 17 teams this year are upper half(ish) in the PL:
M.City, Chelsea, Liverpool, Leicester, Man U, Spurs, Arsenal, Sheff U.

It's likely that the eventual winner will come from clubs with that standing, as it does very nearly every year.

Meanwhile, the FA Cup isn't just about the top half of the PL, it's also about the other 726 teams from up and down the country who entered every year.

They don't take it seriously unless they happen to find themelves somehow in the semi final by default by playing weak teams and resting their real team.

The remaining teams is irrelevant.  They are so strong that even their youth or weakened sides have enough to beat most opponents.   As for the winner coming from a top 6 side is also irrelevant.  They don't take the competition seriously and none of the Championship sides or lower can match them even fielding sh*te teams. The gulf is that big in terms of money and youth talent recruitment.

Your average sports fan wants to see people trying to win.  Winning a tournament by not even trying or beating opponents who don't try cheapens the achievement.  The FA Cup is dead. I'd be in favour of scrapping it or having it for lower league sides to fight it out for.

It's also incredibly boring.

Just because it's tradition does not make it right

Here’s a stat for ya ;
53000 fans respected the FACup at Anfield.
How many were at the Emptihad in the 4th round tie ?

You're rattled

there were 40 thousand at the Etihad for the Fulham game.

It was £1 in for kids to Anfield last night, City have done a similar pricing structure for Cup games in recent years and sold out to lower league clubs, they didn't do the same this year which was a mistake IMO

Here's another stat as you seem in the mood. City have a higher average league attendance than Liverpool. Next.

Yeah, but Liverpool fans can't get to midweek home games...
