The 105 minutes was never going to work, was never feasible and frankly it is obvious some gobsh*te came up with it as a health conscious measure ignoring that it encourages binge drinking, pub crawls leading to potentially multiple clusters, bar staff having to deal with more customers increasing risk of infection.

Instead of sending punters in for a time limit of 105 minutes that was going to cause friction between owners, staff and punters - especially regulars/locals - the onus should be on sanitation and promoting personal hygiene when entering the premises, social distancing amongst staff and regular wipe downs of tables. Instead we have a situation where lads aren’t even sat at their table and they have ordered pints and the game is to drink as much as possible in as little time as possible. Sanitation and personal hygiene is secondary.

The Vintners won’t come out of this well either. Pubs now easy targets as they are seen as ‘flouting’ the ridiculous rules and it’s hard to see them not having to close again at some stage.

Its all a bit of a joke really. Four of us went for few pints on Saturday evening. Booked, contract tracing, feed, all that stuff. Then we had to leave. Even though it was a big pub with plenty of space, booths and a lot of empty seats. So we went to another pub and ordered pizzas that nobody ate and had more pints. People are going to just move around with this 105 minutes rule which just makes things worse. Putting a time limit on Irish drinkers is a really bad idea, people just binge and then all leave the pub at the same time.

One of the young lads at work said he was out yesterday and had 2 hours sitting at one table then a lad behind the bar said sorry but you are going to have move from this table but you can sit at this one instead  LOL . He said his group end up chatting to a few women where there was 7 of them .

Not a boozer but heard the IMC cinema is not going to reopen in tallaght. Was always ran very poorly in my opinion but still a big shame as I still used it as my cinema of choice as they did the melted butter on popcorn.

It was gone for years then refurbished and opened by IMC. But the screenings were mostly half empty I found, even new films sometimes by the weekend could be half full. Compared with Dundrum/Vue which seemed to be always packed. Always wondered how they are even continuing to trade like that.

Think it had a bad name and people used the alternative options more, in fairness you did get arsehole teens or pikeys a lot of times interrupting.

Was my go to cinema too. Two for one on three mobile rewards Sunday to Thursday guaranteed a cheap midweek night out. It's a pity because the screens and set up was fine.

My brother was in the Hairy Lemon with his brother in law last Friday. Knew the score with ordering food but they had table booked in restaurant with the wives for later so weren't too pushed and didn't get the impression from staff that it was going to be enforced. Ordered a few pints and still no mention of food, then after about an hour and 15, his missus joined them and when he ordered another round, the barman said they needed to order food and they had 30 minutes to finish up and go. They weren't going to order food at that stage but the barman stuck €27 on to the bill for the 3 of them.
