Turkey and Russia now submitted interest to UEFA.
Russia haven't a hope in hell. You'd still imagine UEFA would favour the joint bid

hopefully we win over Turkey. Seems like Turkey always tries to bid but doesn’t get a lot of support.

Not mad on the idea of us holding the tournament but Turkey is an awful kip altogether.

Tbh as much as I'd love Ireland to host something, Turkey should get it given they've bidded for it the last 5 times
They won't of course because uefa will make a lot more money with the uk/ireland bid

Pure propaganda so that they can pipe it into the homes back behind the iron curtain, and play it off as if everything's normal. We still bid for euro games and sh*t. Those Western countries.be sniffin the cheap Lithuanian glue.

The Russia bid is pure propaganda intended for a domestic audience. When they get knocked back they'll use that as an "everyone is against us" tactic to help rally support behind the regime there.
I don't know why Turkey keep applying - you'd think they'd get the hint when UEFA chose to spread it around a dozen different countries rather than give it to them last time. That bid will go nowhere either.

32 countries in the finals is a terrible idea. It's going to be harder to not qualify.

Yeah we are probably around the 25-30 mark ourselves so to not qualify would be a massive failing alright.
If there is no automatic host qualifier then you would be looking at: 10 groups. Top 2 automatic through. So that's 20 spots 10 play offs of 3rd placed teams for another 5 spots. Nations League: 4 spots (1 for each league) Total: 29 Would still leave 3 spots left over to be divided out somehow. Probably if the nations league play offs fall after the 3rd place teams play offs then you just include the next highest ranked teams also in a back door draw, so potentially teams that lost the 3rd place play offs would get a second bite of the cherry....that will be us no doubt! Boris Johnson has just said Ukraine should host 2028. To borrow a British term, what a plonker!

Might they give 2 spots to the host countries?
An idea could be to run the qualification route as normal, and should any of the 5 not qualify per the normal routes then they go into a play off system for the two host spots. Would be a good way to maximise the number of host countries there without giving away more than two free spots.

Yeah I could potentially see then trying to give hosts a bit of an advantage if they haven't already qualified. Like top seeded in any play off

Is there some method to his madness! When this ends there is going to be a monumental building process to happen in Ukraine. To host a Euros would be a big boost for nation's moral and the construction of key infrastructure for their cities.
