O'Sullivan down to 9th in the world rankings now, exited the masters at the first round stage this week

Just checking up his roll of honour  - 4 masters, 4 UK championships and 3 world titles

in 17 or 18 years of being on the circuit - a major underachiever given his talent

Ronnie doesn't care about his ranking once he stays in the top 16 and doesn't have to qualify, and is cashing the big cheques
Simon: No-one brings a bag of sh*t to a pub

Jay: Your dad does

Simon: Does he?

Jay: Yeah, your mum

Ronnie hasnt been playing in the ranking events as much this year and has been going out early in the ones he plays. They have new smaller ranking tournaments this year that a lot of the top 16 aint bothering going to play as remember Ken Doherty going on about it during the UK championship. Tis how Mark Williams is back into the top 32(or 16) as he played in a few to get his game back on track.

Ronnie is serious danger of dropping out of the top 16 next year if he doesnt start playing in a few of these to get the points or winning major tournaments.

On a side note good win for Mark Allen there

Alcohol consumption[edit]

Werbeniuk was noted for the copious amounts of alcohol he consumed before and during matches – at least six pints before a match and then one pint for each frame. In total, he drank between 40 and 50 pints of lager per day.[1][3] Doctors advised Werbeniuk to drink alcohol to counteract a familial benign essential tremor.[4] Later in his career he also took propranolol, a beta blocker, to cope with the effects of his alcohol consumption on his heart.[5]

Bill was also famously reported in the UK tabloid press as successfully claiming the cost of 6 pints of lager before every match as a tax deductible expense.[2]

Some of Werbeniuk's most famous feats of drinking include: 76 cans of lager during a game with John Spencer in Australia in the 1970s;[1] 43 pints of lager in a snooker match/drinking contest against Scotsman Eddie Sinclair in which, after Sinclair had passed out following his 42nd pint, Werbeniuk was reported to say "I'm away to the bar now for a proper drink";[6] 28 pints of lager and 16 whiskies over the course of 11 frames during a match against Nigel Bond, in January 1990 – after which Werbeniuk then consumed an entire bottle of Scotch to "drown his sorrows" after losing the match.

That’s a savage amount of booze.

My old boss was about 6ft 6 and same wide and he could do about 20 pints in a session.

But 43!!  His annual spend on booze must be some tab.

So he kept me soul for ransom.

There's no way a human can consume that much alcohol.  Except Paddy Losty.

Fair enough, the man liked a drink. Don't we all. The late Alex ' Hurricane ' Higgins would have run Big Bill close. Marvellous player in his day but an inveterate alcoholic from a family of them. Towards the end of his life he used to drink pints in Lavery's Bar in Belfast and was still adept at cadging them. He was like a stick insect at the end, could not eat solids, ravaged by throat cancer but still smoking and drinking Guinness. Great athlete, in the tradition of Big Bill and darts star Jocky Wilson.

Funnily enough he died of heart failure in the end.

Jesus only 66. Cant believe that. He seemed (in my head) in his 60s around the time Ken won at the crucible.
