Yeah a good pint(sic) there Paul.

I think if there is a good flow in a pub its very hard for a bar man to muck it up without trying to

The best pint of guinness i've had in London was in the Toucan in Soho. A really great pint and would rival any pint of Guinness I've had in Ireland.

Best pint supposedly  was in the Guiness social club in Park Royal (think they closed down now ?. Rarely touch the stuff so cant vounch for it but plenty said it.

gave up drinking guinness due to the fact it was so different in different pubs, main reason that guinness is bad or less creamy is mostly due to the glass washer in the pub, sparkling clean glasses usually lead to bad pints or pints going flat.

Haven't tried the toucan, a mission to head there soon!! Deisedevil is spot on, although temperature is the big thing, about 9 degrees or a little above on a cold winters day, in a warm pub, is perfect.

On a side note stella is in the same division as fosters and budweiser. Muck lager, made in about two weeks and pumped full of chemicals. Heineken import is actually a great lager on draught.

Stella Artois is the drink of the gods - that is a fact.

That you lump it in to that cats piss that is Budweiser is astoundingShocked. Regarding Heinekin I would sooner drink my bathwater than that piss. The End

Postscript -  As regards real ale-- usually favoured by middle aged loners ( eg archeologisits)  with beards, sandals and appaling dress sense attracted to their quirky names like 'Old Speckled Hen' , Badgers Glory etc but all tasting like sick with the bits strained outSmile Thumbs Up

Hard call really , but I must say the Guinness in Dublin is way far better than anywhere else in the world and now i refuse to drink it anywhere outside of Ireland these days .
If i had to pick one I would say the Beggers Bush would be one of my all time favs for a pint .Thumbs Up
