I'd like to visit those small, mystical cities that you'd read about in Lonely Planet

Tirana (dunno - might be a dump, but Albania is now considered an Undiscovered Gem)

Vaduz (picturesque in the Alps)

San Marino (although the game would probably take place in Rimini or Bologna)

Reykjavik (ice, mountains and geysers)

Podgorica (old-style Balkan)

Torshavn (rugged and windwept)

Valletta (warm, sunny and scenic)

San Marino play their games in San Marino now, the euphemistically named "Stadio Olimpico" in Serravalle. I can't see them ever hosting the olympics, though.

Not a massive amount to see in San Marino - Nice to go to one of the small countries but probably fill your afternoon visiting San Marino town and then going to the game. Most of the time is spent in Rimini.

Might as well go to Donegal although it would be easier to understand the locals in the Faroes...

Luxembourg & Belgium too for easy access reasons, or the likes of Greece in early september.

Holland would be great too, though I doubt I'll see much of the game as Molly's will be hammered Big smile

This lads smarter then he looks..Ireland ~ Holland last played each other in a friendly in Dublin, before that was THAT big night.l, so 10 years since a big proper game, the next friendly game has to be in Amsterdam.

The law of averages would back up a pub in Amsterdam could do very well

For me, and strictly from a footballing perspective,  Ireland would be best suited to the following away trips...

Turkey - Istanbul,
Bulgaria - Sofia
Azerbaijan - Baku,
Georgia - Tblisi,
Israel - Tel-Aviv,
Cyprus - Limassol

I was just about to say nobody mentioned Turkey. It's probably because of people's ignorant view of Turks and there footballing heritage. Purely for life experience reasons I would love to visit Istanbul again but this time on a football trip. It is definately up there as one of the great cities of the world plus the folk in Istanbul love to party all night...win win for the Irish Beer

If this was doubled up as an away double header with Israel* all my dreams would come through at once.

*Not sure how Turkey and Israel are currently seeded so may not be possible.

Would love to go to Malta, Faroes, Moldova, Liechenstein, Lithuania, Azerbaijan (direct flights from Aberdeen Wink) and for a really odd communist experience Belarus.

Was great fun the last time with a few thousand people in St Julians Bay with fog horns and then they wouldn't let them in the stadium. Stan scored a free kick for 3-2 win.

Had Croatia mid week too - the first and only time i traveled with 747 travel.

Mc Ateer, Robbie and Gary Kelly in the Karoke bar giving it socks.

Remember it well, got a police escort from the airport to the hotel in Zagreb, and the Copper on the front bike turned off into a cu de sac and the buses followed him, all had to reverse back onto the main road...great day, Flow's first trip and she's still going strong, wouldn't mind going back at all
I know nothing :-)
