What's the story with the bars in the Stadium for soccer matches with all this covid sh*te

Saw that the Rugby yesterday was bars open but had to bring it back to your seat. Obviously with this not permitted for soccer, hard to know what will happen

Maybe I'll stay longer whatever pub I'll get into. O Donoghues Merrion row seems tempting and its not overly long walk to the Aviva

Very much not, first since September 2019 for the Swiss game which was back in normal times. Remember could have a pint in the concourse then

With all this covid sh*te you wouldn't know what farcical rules are in place

Rugby crowd can be trusted we Just can't unfortunately but we're better supporters none the less it's more of an event and a chance to Network over the game itself.
I'm the gaffer whatever I say goes.

It can be handy when you are pressed for time after finishing work on a weeknight game and getting into the stadium area there is not much time to get to a pub for 1 one or two without absolutely knocking them back.

Sounds like it won't be happening for this game then due to the competing rules (no drinking in concorse for covid, no drink allowed at seat UEFA)

To answer the original question, the bars were not open for the most recent 3 home games so I presume that's gonna be the same again on Thursday. No idea why they've been closed

Well I think previously it was because of covid indoor restrictions and need of a cert for that but you don’t need one to enter the aviva stadium so it’s a mix of vaxxed and unvaxxed.
The fact they didn’t change that rule recently means it would be under the same rules as before so only outdoor allowed without vaccine verification and as drinking at your seat is banned for now that f**ks that up.

Only chance they would have to sell beer inside is if they scanned for cert but that would be hard to do (doable if you really wanted to though as you queue for long enough to get the pint they could have someone checking), but suppose you also need to then police the people who wouldn’t have a cert and still trying to get a pint.

Unvaccinated are really f**king up things for the rest of us. If we were at 99% the whole cert thing would surely be out the window

who cares, plenty of bars beside the stadium and you will get a proper pint! people drinking really ruins the rugby, stream of people in and out of their seats and not even watching the game. bad enough already people leaving after 35 mins to queue up for a 10 euro curry chip

I think I'll pass on the 3.8% Carlsberg in plastic bottles. Utter pish!

They don't seem to serve pints to us slums in the 114 area. Your best bet is 3-4 pints pre match and then 1 or 2 after. I'd imagine it will be near on impossible to get into a pub near the stadium though.

an hour before kick off maybe. But around lunch time shouldn't be an issue so just start early.

You can drink at UEFA games. You were able to have a beer at your seat for the Denmark match in 2019. Not sure what the story is with FIFA matches.
