LOL you're some man

It's extras in a car. i.e. cruise control, steering wheel controls, sunroof etc.
I know what it means but don’t get the fascination LOL

Thought it might have been another 4th quarter LOL

If you’re doing big mileage ya might want cruise control & leather interior. Or ya may need satnav if you’re out & about with work
Or you may just like nice things.
It amazes me people going buying a brand new merc/bmw etc dropping 60 grand and buying the lowest spec model LOL
Higher spec are always more sought after in the second hand market so retain their value better (generally) so make for better investments

Would consider android auto or apple car play standard in any newish car?

I'm unusual insofar as the mechanics of a car don't interest me in the slightest, because you are limited by the rules of the road in any event and any car that's roadworthy can cope with that.

I get more interest out of the tech and comfort in a car personally..

Yep. Perfect storm between the semi conductor shortage delaying new car delivery and VAT now on top of VRT for mainland UK imports has meant 2nd hand cars have not only held their value but actually gone up.

I'll be putting my 162 Octavia VRS up for sale very shortly if you are interested, much lower mileage than what you are looking at but you'll need to increase your budget accordingly!!!

Yeah I'm the same, not really into my cars but having Apple Car Play is a great feature, easy for the sat navs, and playing podcasts.

Yep. Have the Octavia 2 years and sick of diesels so time to go back to hot hatches.

The car man can do nought to 60 in 2.2 blips. Oh wow I usually need 10 seconds to get behind the next car
It would damage this forums' reputation

Octavia VRS -

When I start the car and put it into reverse, I get a loud beeping noise and an error saying the ParkPilot is currently not available.

The park pilot does work then after a few minutes.

The load noise is very irritating.

Are the sensors dirty or damaged?

try cleaning the sensors with wd40. if that fails one or more sensors might need to be replaced. 25 euro-ish for a new sensor.

Had the same issue with my Golf, was corrosion on the pins of the connector block. Bit of IPA and a scrub with an old toothbrush done the trick.

Best not use WD40 unless you mean the contact cleaner? The 3-1 stuff can perish plastic and make it dry and brittle.

EDIT: Just for clarity, IPA = Isopropyl Alcohol and NOT the beer. Not taking the blame for anyone shorting their cars electronics with a can of craft beer LOL
