Yes, I would imagine there's a large amount of "baiting" from the other individuals involved in these incidents based on their knowledge of Stokes' foolishness. In any case, there was a time when he was a good player and probably should have been used more by Ireland. If he'd had a bit more pace that might have taken him on to the next level.
We're decent enough..

His finishing could be a little erratic too. His link up play was brilliant though. As good as Hooper was at Celtic in his prime, he wouldn't have been half as good without Stokes.
Greed has won, big finance has won. Whatever small role elite clubs still play in the local communities from which they grew is dwarfed now by their position as global brands.

I certainly thought Stokes had the ability he showed it in flashes  at Sunderland with some important late goals.

His partnership with Hooper was impressive at Celtic as was his goalscoring record for the Bhoys.

Shame all the baggage he had he could have been just what Ireland needed given that we've always had a problem scoring goals.

His old man ran a pub called the Players Lounge, went in there a couple of times, definitely the sort of establishment where Bloomsday is celebrated...
