It's a shame he can't do it at the very top level. Looks like he has the ability and it seems that Scottish Premier is handy enough for him. Just doesn't seem to have the edge to make the next leap. He had a brilliant scoring record at Falkirk before Keane bought him, something like 17 goals in 12 games at one stage or something ridiculous like that. I'm sure someone has the correct stat. Like many of the players we have they are close but no cigar when it comes to doing it at the very top. Pity really........

The difference is confidence. He's playing uder the same manager at Hibs that he did at Falkirk. This manager plays him every week. That is what he needs. Still feel he could do a job at the top level... he just needs the confidence and faith. He never got that under Keane at Sunderland. He was playing once every three or so games and even when he did play he was sometimes stuck on the left wing. Harsh to say he can't cut it at the top level when this is the only real chance he's had at a high level. Its fair to say the SPL isnt the best of standards but he's not playing for the Old Firm so his goalscoring record up there is even more of an achievement IMO.

In fairness to Stokes, he's banging them in. Maybe he's got his finger out or maybe SPL is his level. If he Keeps it up though he'll defo be in the upcoming squads ahead of the likes of Long who is struggling to get into a poor Reading side.

Seems to only bang them in up in Scotland though thats the problem! If he does so well in the SPL what would youz reckon about him signing for Celtic?

scottish football seems to be his level not good enough for epl but on evidence from falkirk and now hibs well able to bang em in. celtic wouldnt actually be a bad shout,
