5 assists and one goal in his last 4 league games. He is flying at this level. Making it look easy at the moment.

3 goals and 8 assists in total in 17 games for Blackburn. Such an impressive start for a kid of his size/build in his first foray into men’s football! Most in those circumstances struggle in the Championship.

Have watched Brighton 3/4 times recently and in certain games they have actually missed a player with his creative skillset!

Lallana's contract up in the summer, Moran making a great case for himself to fill that gap in the squad next season

It’s been my thinking he would be his replacement tbh. Just makes sense you would hope they get Europe again for next year plenty games for him. Despite their rocky patch every chance they wil

Is Key Passes really that significant of a metric? Especially when you're measuring players across multiple leagues/levels/positions. I mean you have Ronan top, Manning & Smallbone ahead of Szmodics, Brown & Robinson ahead of Ogbene and Marcus Harness and Aaron Connolly ahead of Evan Ferguson.

Yep. I'm specifically looking at who the most creative players are, so raw chances created (KP) is best, along with xAG & Shot Creating Actions.

Assists are misleading in that regard because you're relying entirely on your team mates converting the chances created to get an assist. (eg, Szmodics has more assists than Smallbone & Manning, but the latter have actually created more chances, they just weren't scored).

I'm not concerned about it being across different leagues, everyone on here knows where these players play & can weight the leagues however they want.

Ronan is in purely because he got called up 18 months ago (doesn't really seem to be in the frame anymore), & his season is finished so he's a kind of pacemaker.

An actual Irish born and raised creative player is a rare specimen. First one we've produced since Wes came through two decades ago. At least Moran won't have to wait til he's 30 to get recognised and appreciated

Not an entirely accurate comparison - Wessi was playing LOI at Moran's age, and would do for years to come.  Also, the feet and close control Wes had.  I can't think of another Irish player like him.

Managers' seemed to dislike that he was slight - although in later years when he did get going, he used to win the ball back for us a fair bit, funnily enough!

I expect that if Moran keeps playing well at upper-championship level and beyond, he'll be in any manager's plans.

Moran is in a real bad spell of form at the moment . I have watched his past few games and he is really struggling with men's football . Gets knocked of the ball , easily dispossessed.

He looks like he has mountain to climb if he is going to make it as a premier league player.

You must not have seen Damien Duff. I remember seeing him dance rings around the spanish defence at the world cup . He looked like the second coming of George Best . One of the best dribbllers i have ever seen . He didnt have ryan giggs pace but for sheering dribbling ability he was the best in the world at the time . He showed the world that we could produce football wizards as good as any other nation.

Here we go - 20 year old has 3 goals and 8 assists in 25 games during his first loan for a Championship club, but he's in dire trouble of being another dud apparently LOL

I am not saying he is going to be a dud . But I do think there is an unhealthy hype about this kid, maybe not on this board, but in certain sections of the media such as off the ball, where they are saying that he could be the Irish Phil Foden

While there are certain similarities in that they both dribble and have an eye for a pass, that's where the comparisons stop I am afraid.

I don't think it helps the kid either to hear that hyperbole from the Irish media, as its puts enormous expectation on the lad, and unlike the lads on off the ball I don't think he is going to play for any big premier league club in the future.

I am sure I have seen a lot more of him play than they have who are only judging him by you tube highlights.
