James Maddison went for £20m, there’s no way Browne will go for more.

I’d say anything between £8-12m would be in the ballpark.

Good Comparison though Brownie has had more championship appearances and is a full international.

You can't really make comparisons any more, there are far too many variables in every transfer, but there isn't a snowball's chance in hell of him going for £25 million.
f**king hell!LOL

I was making a comparison with Bradley Dack who I heard was valued at £20m. Plus Browne recently signed a two and a half year extension.

By he club that don't want to sell him in the middle of a play-off push? In fairness, the only places even pushing that are incredibly dubious.

Anyway, Browne is as well off where he is.  I can't imagine many other clubs setting up in a manner that suits him so well.

On a side note, I think Dack is class. I would love him to find a granny from Mayo. I would be surprised if he doesn't play in the EPL.

I wish these ratings were a little broader to encompass those playing in Europe and Scotland, etc., but one takes what they can get. Browne definitely on fire.

Can't understand why Brownies name has been thrown around more as a potential starter versus the Swiss, has way more experience than the likes of Josh Cullen. Alex Neill has used Browne as a full back in recent games but surely would offer more than Glenn Whelan at this stage. If he can't break into the current Irish squad he might as well throw in the towel.

I think it boils down to the 'tried and tested' argument.

I agree that Browne would offer more than a few players in the team, namely Whelan and I would also add Hendrick. I've watched Browne play in an advanced role and holding role and hes done well in both for Preston.

Swiss game is a massive game for us, mccarthy has had pretty much no games to try new players/formations etc.

Sticking with what he knows at this point is probably what he should look to do.

Saying that -for me, if the Whelans, mcclean and Brady's play in the friendly there will be no excuse

forgot abt Browne surely he has to be close with lack of options - hes been a regular for Preston for last 2 seasons and has a decent goal return.

Browne is a similar player to Hourihane and Hendrick.

You can’t play the three of them together, in fact you shouldn’t even play two of them together.
