Very sad news today to hear he did at only 61 years of age. Absolute legend for Everton when he played there

Remember watching him on TV highlights when his career was coming to an end, he never dwelt on the ball trying to be clever, excellent passer of the ball from what I can recall and ran for miles. Though it does our head in to always be fed the 1966 goals, he ran his guts out getting to the ball to cross for the infamous Geoff Hurst goal that hit the bar.  Youngest member of that team, sad alright.

the guy was a legend. bit of a freak accident I believe. A bonfire went out of control in his back garden and they reckon this must have been the catalist for the heart attack. Great player for club and country and like you say freewheeler, the youngest of the 1966 WC winning team and the one who passed the ball to hurst and the famous kenneth Wolstenholme line that is marked in history now. Rest in peace.
