As ever AMcG mixed the brilliant with the brainless when he came on. Could have won it late on, and similarly gave a simple ball away whcih almost led to us conceding.

i'd still have him playing against Serbia as he gives us an "out" ball which was badly missing all the first half.

Daryl Horgan.

Why do Irish fans constantly over look Irish born players and go for British born players?

Horgan would do far damage at international level than Mcgeady will.

Yes, a guy with one cap who plays off the bench for Preston will do more than our all-time leading assister....
We're decent enough..

I thought he was hopeless, looked what he is now a mid table Championship player......can't beat a man 1 on 1 and that chance at the end??? could he have skied it any higher over the bar!!

When he plays for Sunderland he plays great but when he plays for Ireland he doesn't...what's the common denominator here?

I think there has been a slight drop off in the quality of the Championship for a couple of years and that there is a correlation here.

McGeady scores, but Sunderland getting a real pasting, with Gibson, Wilson (who had to go off with an injury) as well as the aforementioned McGeady in the starting line-up. O'Shea came on as a sub. And it says a lot about Josh and where his career is right now when he  can't get near the first xi of a team as poor as this.

Grayson made five changes from the last game - including the goalkeeper. Keeps changing the system, too. Starting to look all a bit desperate.
