Could say that for 95% of football teams, probably more.

Get relegated. Get parachute payments. Get promoted. Get parachute payments. And so on

Are the top brass just pocketing (legally) wads of cash for themselves, while spending as little as possible?

They have absolutely zero quality to stay in the PL this time round. Not sure what the story is with Cantwell. Hasnt played in a while. Hes not enough to save them but hes their best midfielder. Pukki goals have dried up and they have no goalscorers on the bench really. Idah aint ready yet for PL.

Whatever else, Hogan is definitely not a "target man" i.e. one who can hold the ball up and bring others into play. Then again, who else have ROI got who can do so at international level? (Idah perhaps eventually, but he's clearly not ready just yet).

And in any case, I thought SK's plan was to play possession football from the back, along the ground and through the thirds i.e. more Pep than Big Sam.

In which case, as this video shows, Hogan is very adept both at poaching in the penalty area, or hanging on the shoulder of the defender 30 yards out, beating the offside trap and stroking (never blasting) the ball home.

Though yeah, this is pretty academic, since even if Hogan still has it (debateable), SK is clearly too far down his own road to change course now.

i cant imagine ever going on a forum for the north and writing paragraphs about one of their fringe players, with youtube highlights included. just an incredibly odd way to spend your time. creepy even

Looks like he won't even get on today for Norwich against Burnley. Seems to be 5th choice forward. Needs a loan move ASAP but obviously can't til Jan at earliest. Not good....

Kenny can't really continue having him as a guaranteed starter. Surely, we're seeing nowhere near the Idah we should be seeing given the lack of match fitness.

a tad dramatic no. 4 games left in 2021 2 of which are next week so even 90 minutes today wouldn’t be that much different.

Perhaps, but I don't think anyone could see a loan move as a bad thing at this stage

He's very much a bench option atm and that's fine but that is a Farke problem today not an Idah issue! He's not exactly scoring like Ronaldo but no one in the Norwich team is! Should have hurled him on with 20 mins to go give him a potential look at goal!!

a loan to a championship club would benefit everyone … considering it’s where Norwich will be next season.

Why not? He was probably the best outfield player across all 3 games of the last window.

Its not like the alternatives are up to much.

Idah has pretty much only started in the absence of senior strikers - McGoldrick, Robinson, Connolly. Maguire, Long & Collins have all started ahead of him at different points, too.

He should definitely push for a loan in January though.

I always expected Idah to be on the bench this season, I also expected Norwich to be a goal down in games with twenty minutes to go and for that reason alone I thought Idah would get a lot of 20 minute appearances but he hasn't.

Norwich have 14 games between now and the window opening, a lot can happen in the space of 2 or 3 games never mind 14. The lads ahead of him aren't doing anything impressive so he will get a chance, just has to make sure he is ready to make the most of it

The best outfield player is a massive stretch. Not sure what games you watched.

He held the ball up well a few times, won some aerial battles but wasn't a goal threat even once. Massive chunks of the games he was nowhere near involved.

He didn't look out of place but he didn't do anything to suggest he can't be swapped with another forward.

We can't continue to play an unproven player that isn't playing football

largely agree with all this. Has been far from undroppable.

Have to feel for him though. Hasn't been given any decent run to actually show what he can do. it's been 2 months since he scored a goal (in a preseason friendly). Doesn't help one's confidence at that age either.
