I don't know if any of you have made arrangements to cover yourselves in case we make it out of the group, but if you're interested in doing so, there's the Hotel Ukraine in Cherkassy which is a city about 150km south of Kiev. We booked rooms there on booking.com (50 quid a night for your own room and free cancellation).

http://www.booking.com/hotel/pl/pentagos-hostel-poznan.en-gb.html?label=gog235jc;sid=bc36b42f0562ff1223215f03e7095019;dcid=1

Booked this place for a few days.Got some info from the University and also someone posted up info on boards.ie

The hostel is just opposite the cadet school. It is student's hostel of the University of Life Sciences (http://www.up.poznan.pl/noclegi/?item=2).

500 m from the hostel there is a bus stop with DIRECT connection to the Stadium (bus 91).
15 minute journey (bus operates every 15-20 minutes).

Its about 4km from the city centre and in front of the hostel there's a bus stop (bus no 60) which rides to Male Garbary stop (it is the 8th stop along the route) - from there there's 450 m walk into Old Market Square .
When You exit the bus no 60 at the 7.th stop ("Solna") You're just 500 m from Freedom Square where there's a FanZone for ca. 30.000 fans.

Bus 60 operates every 30 minutes.

Taxi will cost about €4 into the city centre.

I'd say there'll be a lot of folks over there dropping prices when they realise that people won't be taken for fools. We're doing the campsite for both Poznan games but heading to what looks a nice spot in Sopot for the Spain game. Reasonably priced but by the looks of some of the photos, there are some dreadful looking places for top dollar!

They have tripled their prices.poor form but it's to be expected.Hopefully prices will drop when hotels realise people won't pay over the odds.

Look like some ahve an idea how to earn some money. This is going to be a madeshift site at best. I know the area a bit: a slightly run-down industrile sites around with some private houses. Close to the grand but not a walking distance: 5 tram stops. Be cautious booking.

I think this may be partly the problem, don't forget your post from the 10th March, you hit the nail on the head about the thread
