Welbeck and Maupay also start so we'll have to see where Aaron lines up.

Looks like an attacking selection from Brighton which is a bold move. I would think Maupay up front with wellbeck  and connolly on the left and right.

Molumby on the bench too which is really good to see

Shocking peno from Maupay, well off target.

Connolly did well to win it.

Had a good first half and seems to be playing through the middle with good success.

On current performance you can't help thinking ireland may have faired better with him in the team, undoubtedly got.some qualities.

Subbed after 60 minutes for Lallana. Should still be on the pitch, he's been their biggest threat.

Subbed off, does not look happy, hopefully his attitude doesn't lose him game time. Saying that he had been putting in a decent shift.

Started against Liverpool, played well and got an hour on the pitch.

He's got a good bit of bite about him and wants to win.

Surprised to see him come off. Would be amazing to see connolly and molumby play in the same team

Guys on commentary saying he was one of their main threats and surprised he was taken off.

hasn't played much recently, maybe management thought more than an hour was an injury risk

He reminds me of a young Shane Long.

apart from speed, i see no long similarity. connolly is very skillful with good dribbling and close control, long was always just functional in these aspects

It's great and all that he's getting good reviews and bigged up by Klopp, etc, but the bottom line is he's just another Irish striker who can't score.

Hes never really played as an out and out striker tho. I think he has the ability to score 15 goals a season but its not easy when your in and out of the team etc. I think the goals will come more regularly to his game. Lets put it this way if Brighton decided to let him go in the morning he would have lots of clubs after him. We need to have him playing literally every game in a green jersey from now on.

At this point we need to take having a player playing ok in the premier league as progress.
