There’s hurling in Cornwall, I’m sure they would beat Tipperary!

'Heroic' and 'incredibly proud' is enbarrassing after a defeat like that.
By all means tweet support, but those tweets play to stereotype that The Irish rugby team is overhyped and over  marketed

I totally agree with this. The abuse our players get when the soccer team loses is unreal. People doesn't seem to comprehend we actually overachieve in soccer and in rugby we are one of the one only countries that take it seriously.

The media eggs that on. Also there seems to be a serious class divide in both sports. Most rugby supporters aren't real fans, it's just D4s and women who think they are something and want to be fashionable. What offends me most is their refusal to play our national anthem to satisfy a bunch of Prod DUP w**kers. Shameful.

I didn't watch it all, I'm glad they lost and I logged onto Ewans twitter account for a good giggle.

Surely since you're working in the media you know how things work. They are going to milk their marketing opportunity while it's still relevant. I don't agree with the tweets but If you think 3 etc. wouldn't send out a similar tweet should we go out of a tournament you're deluded. They are getting slaughtered at the moment by most media outlets so not sure what you're looking at. This is coming from someone who only has a passing interest in rugby...

I'm well aware how it works.  That doesn't mean I can't have an opinion on it

The Irish team were 'undercooked'. What is the story with using that as a way to describe a bad performance.
You can have a few knocks or be off form, but I dont really get the use of the description that the team were undercooked when it comes to describing a poor performance. Seems to be only used in rugby analysis

If you worked in marketing you'd know that most of the country is fed up with this over hyped marketing nonsense. Achil Island isn't a Rugby stronghold so stop pretending it is.

If they tweeted heroic Ireland after France beat us in euro 2016 they would be bang on the money. That qualifying campaign was a roller coaster and an achievement given the players we possess. Getting through the group stage was massive and running France so close was indeed heroic. Nothing compared to this rugby team of us bottlers. Full of mercenaries without an iota of Irish blood in them.
