PD winners - Dundalk, but it will be a lot tighter this year 1st Division Winners - Limerick look to be the obvious choice Europe - Same 4 as last year Relegated - Sligo and Harps for the playoff. Promoted - UCD I fear Cup winners - Cork League Cup winners - Rovers First manager to walk/axed - Buckley is already under pressure from last season. A bad start and he gets it. Dave Robertson might get the hump. Top scorer - Christy Fagan if fit. Surprise Package - I think Youths might be a pain in a lot of ointment. The '*' award for points deductions - Confident that this will be unawarded, but there are questions over Bray.

One thing about this year, and I suspect this might be a medium term thing as European money increases, is that the top four in 2015 was the same as 2014 and I really can't see any of the chasing pack breaking into it. Sligo seem to be in a bit of disarray. Derry are in post Roddy mode for at least anther year. Bohs are still doing as well as can be expected with the misfits and criminals but have overachieved recently and may fall back. I can't see the rest pushing for the title.
Long and short, its still competitive as there are four potential winners, but I see this as the same four for the next few years at least.

Not a hope we'll sack shield - long term project from what I hear he will be given massive leeway. He went out and invested some of the player budget on GPS monitors, dietician, sports science guy. That's an indication that he's under no pressure to hit the ground running |

We'll lack the quality this season but we'll not be wanting fitness wise as he has put them thru a serious pre season. I know a few lads who played for him in Irish league and all had good word on him. I'm surprised we got him, I wouldnt work for our board - David Brent wouldn't get a look in with those fellas , it's more frank Spencer ffs |

Time will tell, we have had enough false prophets up here so nobody will be too excited. I have no enthusiasm for this season at all bar the fact that it gets all the lads back out for a few beers in maileys every second Friday night

Winner; Someone other than Dundalk I'd be very surprised if they do 3 in a row as losing Towell has brought them back to earth. Shams and Corks business has been disappointing. Pats seem to have signed well. Pats for me.
1st Division; Limerick if they don't go bust Top 4/Europe; same Cup winners; Cork League cup; who cares?it's not even a proper league cup. Surprise package; Waterford to be higher than second from bottom in the FD. Galway to be top 6 in the PD. Top Scorer; Fagan Relegated: Wexford/ possibly ourselves or Harps for a play off lottery. Asterisk; I'd fear for Limerick/Cabinteely/Bray Edited by Bitored - 29 Jan 2016 at 9:01pm |

Why would you worry about limerick? The club is rick solid now, very sustainable business model. |

Rock solid business model? They've increased their budget despite being relegated. If Pat o'Sullivan couldn't afford to plow money into them this time last year facing into a PD season what's changed facing into a FD season? The pitch maintaince is unsustainable for them so they've been forced to let Munters reserve/youth teams play on it/cut it to ribbons to help with costs. Nothing about any of that scream sustainability to me. If they storm the FD like everyone expects they'll probably get away with it and have a few bumper crowds during a title run in next October. My fear would be improved sides like UCD put it up to them and/or they get below expected crowds when people can't be bothered to turn our for Cabinteely part 2. |

Agreed. It would appear that they are banking on similar crowds to the end of last season, that is a huge risk, it was only last August that had about 300 fans for a home game against us. There is something not right there, especially that Pat Sullivan character. I do hope I am wrong.
