The budget is reduced from what McCaffrey had at his disposal this time last year. The bidget was then drastically cut due to people not going over a combination of issues within the club. We then got rid of aload of duds when McCaffrey left and Darius signed several free agents on amateur terms as the FAI put a transfer embargo on us. The new chariman of the new consortium has already said on radio that the bidget is less than what McCaffrey had last year. So its either increased or decreased whatever way you want to compare it.
We all hate Drog scum.

Premier Division Champions: Shamrock Rovers

FAI Cup Winners: Sligo

League Cup Winners: Drogs again

Relegated: UCD

Relgation/First Divison Play Off: Bray – wouldn’t have a clue what first division team will make it

First Divison Champions: don’t know

All Ireland Cup Winners: Any league of Ireland team bar cork should be capable of winning it

Qualify for Europe: Sligo and junkies

Top Goal Scorer: Danny North

First Manager to Be Sacked: Tommy Dunne

First Club to Go Out of Business: None – but can see both bray and dundalk struggle and wouldn’t be surprised  to see an astrix in the league table beside either club (especially craptown if they don’t have a good start and their crowds dwindle!)

Re: rory patterson. Didn’t think much of him when playing against us tbh (and I was looking out for him as hes a former fc united player). But was impressed in cup final. Might well have a say in who the top scorer is if he can stay fit for the season

"Not surprised you are anti foreigner in your so called Kip of a town when you don’t want a manager because he is Swedish and you want big Sam in charge" - a fine post from a fine ybig poster

You see, that is the kind of garbage that gets tongues wagging. I can see why people look at Dundalk, who were talking about folding last season, have signed Kenny and a raft of decent pro's and expect us to believe that they are on a lower budget than last season while every other club is dealing with wage inflation.

It is slightly incredelious to see you so delighted with your 'top' signings but offended at the suggestion that they might cost more than last years duds.

That said, I am of the understanding that the issues last season were more of a civil war nature than an actual lack of funds, but it all looks a tad odd from the outside.

See it whatever way you want.

Last year 114 season tickets were sold and crowds from May onwards barely got over the 700 mark. Plenty of regulars stayed away due to the continued crap coming from the board and then owner Matthews. The DFC Trust reformed itself and started negotiations to take over the club but didnt have the funds. Then with a severe lack of funds, the club nearly folded. It was the fans who got us out of the mess. Several groups where set up such as the "Save our Club" group who fundraised left right and centre and where in a position to start paying bills direct to the creditors rather than letting Matthews take the money. The Fastfix consortium(who are all footballing people) came together with the Trust in September to take over the club and have successfully done so. We have wiped out our debts with the money they have put in and the money raised by the Trust and the Save our Club group through more and more fundraising. The Trust set up a new membership scheme whereby its a tenor a year to join and have 1000 members since this was launched in November. Since season tickets went on sale after the first week in December we have sold 200 already and the majority of regular season ticket holders tend to purchase theirs in the 2-3 weeks before the season starts. The club has also allowed people to pay off the season ticket over a weekly or monthly payment before the season starts and these numbers are not recorded in that 200 amount. Regarding Kenny and the squad, Peter Cherrie was our top earner last year and has accepted a reduced contract, I have it on good authority that 3 of the signings are on amateur terms(2 surprises on that) as well as Eoghan Osbourne on amateur terms as per norm as he is at college. COmpare this to last year where McCaffrey had a budget of 7.9k a week and wasted 1/4 of this on backroom staff, he had 2 goalkeeping coaches, an assistant manager, a first team coach and a squad adviser aswell as his own wage. He also gave ridiculous money to Shane O'Neill, Derek Foran and Chris Shields(Shields supposed to have been on 500 a week for a part timer) wtf like?!

So you are in a better financial situation and have increased your wagebill? So what.

Ah feck it, he's a scumbag anyway...

He was in the town and bit a young lad in the face and took a chunk out of it. The lad is gay and is camp as Christmas, whilst he's a torture and a bit in your face there was no need for what Rory done. He had about 4 stone weight advantage over the lad and a foot in height if the lad was annoying him he could easily have dealt with it another way. Pure savagery

Hes been in a few well publicised scrapes, coming off worse in them all.

Tadhg Purcell to partner him up front next season anyway Clap

Premier Division Champions:  Between the two who i feel are head and shoulders above the rest at the moment Pats and Sligo , if Pats can grow a set of balls which is highly unlikely the might just do it

FAI Cup Winners:               Sligo

League Cup Winners:          Derry

Relegated:                    Hard to say at the moment but given the squads at thememnet you would have to say UCD , Bray possibly Bohs and Dundalk in the Mix too

First Divison Champions:     Longford

All Ireland Cup Winners:          Sligo and Pats again Cliftonville look strong too

Qualify for Europe:               Sligo Rovers, Shamrock Rovers, St Pats, Derry possibly Drogs

Top Goal Scorer:               Outside Shout for Fagan

First Manager to Be Sacked:     Trevor Croly

First Club to Go Out of Business:     Dont know much about the finances of other clubs .
"The Football Grounds of Europe" about Dalymount that :- "You walk down lanes you'd expect to find a backstreet mechanic only to stumble onto a national stadium steeped in tradition and history"

Don't know if I'd be putting too much money on North to be top scorer
