A group of people, young and old, male and female went to a football match and never came home.

If we are football fans and i assume we all are, how can we not be touched by this. Joking and jeering about the deaths of 14 year old boys is disgusting. Shameful.

Can you even try to imagine how those poor people died. Think about it. Being squashed, the oxygen leaving your lungs, totally helpless, a metal fence blocking your way of escaping and still the push from behind getting worse and worse. Surely it'll stop and i'll be alright. No, its not going to stop. Wanting to scream but not cant. Will someone pull that f**king fence down ? No, nobody's helping. Please, i can't breath, please, help. Dark..........

Is this worth a jib, is it ? Is this just a sl*g, is it ? Is this Fans banter, is it ?

And a hell of a lot more came home that day, only to spend the next 23 years dealing with PTSD, survivors guilt, grief etc.

A good mate of mine, 8 at the time, still has no idea whether the fella who got him over the fence lived or not. Still has trouble with crowds among other things.

Plenty of suicides in the years up to today directly attributable to Hillsborough.

Marriages also suffered, it led to alcohol and drug abuse, and suicides like you mentioned. Some people are just clearly ignorant of the facts, its not that hard to read about the whole disaster and its impact!

There was an excellent eye witness account from a 16 year old who was pulled out by the cop that was photographed leaning over the fence.it was interesting to hear how he described that it the crush was so bad you were afraid to breath out fully as you wouldnt be able to fully inhale.he also said how he just felt like going to sleep
could you imagine being in that ?
Wings? They're only the band The Beatles could have been.
