Dublin Castle is ultimately a shrine to British Imperialism.
It was far across the sea,
When the devil got a hold of me,
He wouldn't set me free,
So he kept me soul for ransom.

Stick to what we know. Renovate and build a Wetherspoons on the ground floor and an Aparthotel above.

Not wanting to go miles off topic but what really attractive buildings have we constructed in Dublin since independence?

Have you been to visit DC?

I am talking about the contents of it - it's just full of paintings and portraits of British people. It's not really reflecting on Irish history.

I don't suggest knocking it down either.

I think he’s trying to say that the government we elected are actually Chinese Irish landlords who used to be English.

Oh wait, maybe he’s trying to say we elected the Chinese government.

No no, he’s really trying to say, actually I have no idea, which makes two of us and himself I dare say.

A significant, if understated day. Constitutional type days won’t have the same pull for the misty eyed nationalist, but it’s important to commemorate.

Haven’t done a tour on the inside must check it out

Notwithstanding that it’s hardly a shrine

Was at a gay marriage in it a few years back. Beautiful building, probably should be left to go derelict and then knocked for a glass box like most of the city

strange that people are focusing on the bricks and mortar rather than what happened 100 years ago i.e. the handing over of power of the 26 counties  aka the free state to some and what became republic of Ireland to others or what is offficialy called Ireland.

Yes, I’m sure the lads in Eritrea count their lucky stars that they don’t live in Ireland.
