I didn't see much of Sweden in this WC, maybe just the Germany game and bits of the knock outs. I was very impressed with Mexico in the groups (far more than England) so I was surprised by the 3-0 scoreline

what happened in the Mexico game?

People in work today were debating who they would like to meet in the final!!

Uruguay was the preferred option.

I'd imagine there's a sizeable amount of people that would be going nowhere near work the following day in the event of that occurring, so they might as well make it official.

They might be a wee bit better holding off until they actually make the final before proposing these things however...

Yeah GB 1HughJarse, keep the paralell betting discussions to the betting threads. So much of football conversation is contaminated with unrelated prices or odds.

you know its a brave person who writes off the Swedes they are a solid outfit and have prove that in the last couple of years, John Giles is spot on regarding England they have no playmaker, has Henderson, Alli, Lingard actually beaten a man in this WC yet? Harry Kane can't do know wrong but how long can that last?

Here's a stat that should have England fans worried, of the 14 last teams to win a penalty shoot out at a World Cup only 2 teams have gone and won the next game (not sure if that includes penos in the Final and the next game 4 years later).

It will be 3 teams when Russia and Croatia finish up, so is it likely it will double to four teams Ermm

I feel like that has to be related to fatigue. And that really does have to be a concern to England - some of their players looked out on their feet by the end of the 120 minutes the other day.

England will be playing at the earlier time too.
Which means it will be that bit hotter and will make it that bit more difficult for them.

No need to clutch at straws. Sweden KO them Saturday afternoon.

2/1 Sweden to qualify

The heat and ET would have taken its toll on the players.
Young and walker were limping at the end.

In their favour is the Belgium game were most of the first XI got a rest.
Also the Panama game was over at HT.

Overall they should be fresher than most of the 1/4 final teams.

Jesus H Christ rossieman, keep the odds out of this and in the betting thread, otherwise the thread police will be after your collar.
