England have struggled in nearly every game. Their luck will surely run out.

They played very well against China, but the drop off in performance against Nigeria was considerable.
If Randy Waldrum leaves Nigeria, he should be in the running as Pauw's replacement. Didn't put a foot wrong in this tournament and has previously worked with Denise O'Sullivan. Denmark on the other hand - played negatively against China and Haiti, and then decided to play attacking football against Australia! Managers can be difficult to understand at times.

France are battering Morocco. 3-0 already.
Germany beat them 6-0 earlier in the tournament. Yet they still went through with two 1-0 wins. Germany will be raging.

The Germans will be wearing training bibs with "I had a South Korea" on them in the future.
The Quarter-Finals: Spain v Holland Got to be Spain in a close game. -------------------------------------- Japan v Sweden Sweden to frustrate Japan and grind out a win. -------------------------------------- -------------------------------------- Australia v France Whoever wins this will probably win the Semi-Final too. So a counter-attacking Australia, driven by the incentive of a World Cup Final in Sydney, will take it. -------------------------------------- England v Colombia Colombia to play out of their skin, but you just know that England will win it with a jammy penalty, or something like that. |

Japan have been excellent, but I thought that Norway (even though they lost) showed how they could be beaten.
Sit back and let Japan have the ball. Try and limit them to shots from distance, and when you get the chance to get forward put lots of crosses into the box. Sweden have been dangerous from corners, so I wouldn't be surprised if that was the difference between the teams at the final whistle.

Looks like all 4 semi spots could be taken up by European sides.

Sweden were poor vs USA. Now they've done a job on Japan who did come back well at 2-0 down tbf.

Another dramatic day at the World Cup with Australia winning a crazy penalty shoot-out.
So that leaves the Semis looking like this: Spain v Sweden Spain are so talented, and yet so vulnerable at the back and so wasteful in front of goal. Eventually you'd think it will catch up with them, but are Sweden the team to do it? If Blackstenius was firing on all cylinders, Sweden would be looking at a place in the World Cup Final. However, I think Spain will ride their luck another time and win this game. -------------------------------------- Australia v England Got to be Australia. Only nerves could be their undoing at this stage and I don't see that happening. |

Spain clinical in front of goal today. Against Costa Rica they had 40 + shots and only scored 3 goals.

Australian defenders terrified of the pace of the English attackers, sitting way too deep.

Sacking Phil Neville leads to good things. At least it's not the men.
