Preferably, the Irish dislike one team and love the other. Then it will be an impressive match for the fans.

I'm sure Rangers could sell it too!! The last europa league was one of the least inspiring finals line ups ever.

There should be a UEFA ballot for tickets at the quarter final stage. Demand will be insane if Liverpool reach the final. It was really difficult to get tickets in 2011 until Liverpool went out. I'm sure the gardai are having nightmares about a Rangers v Liverpool final. Although half of Dublin cheering for Rangers in that case would be funny.

Aye true, but they do keep some tickets back for locals and there wasn't much interest locally in Porto vs Braga as Gspain says when Liverpool the British sides went out the demand went down. I'd say it would be similar this year if Liverpool, Rangers, Brighton* were to be knocked out (* they'll have to do something special to get back into the tie) Would West Ham bring a decent crowd? who knows. But let's say it's a Villareal v Freiburg final they'll be handing them out |

There are definitely a few stinkers left that could happen but also some ties that would bring the place to a standstill.
I know I'm biased because I support Liverpool but it would be some event if Liverpool were to get here and Klopp's last game was here. Winning the league or winning the Europa league in Dublin, not sure which I'd prefer tbh. Either would do just nicely

West Ham travelled to Prague for the Conference League Final last year in mighty numbers. Most without tickets for what was a relatively small stadium. There is a decent contingent of WH fans in Ireland too. In 2011 tickets ended up on ticket master and although it was a full house, it wasn’t hard to get in.

West Ham would bring a huge crowd. The difference with Liverpool (or Rangers) is so many fans live within easy reach of the Aviva. Appreciate in Rangers case it is mainly 60+ miles. A Bayer Leverkusen v Atalanta type final would be a tough sell. Even the better supported continental clubs left in it like Roma or OM I think would struggle to bring 15-20K to Dublin. I could be wrong but the whole logistics re flights, cost of hotels etc would put many off in my opinion. |

Win League. Win FA Cup. Win Europa league. In order of preference. I think Wembley would be a far more fitting send off for Klopp than a game at Lansdowne. |

Anyone know if the FAI are likely to give Season Ticket holders an allocation? I know UEFA will be handling the ticketing, but presumably the FAI will receive some tickets as hosts.

No, FAI won't be making any tickets available. They don't get an allocation to make available. All associations get a couple of tickets for all finals but literally a handful.

But on the flipside, Klopp potentially losing his last ever game in Dublin would hit like crack for those of us who don't like Liverpool. That would make it 4 losses from 5 in European finals for Klopp. Although I don't think there are many, if any teams, who could stop Liverpool. Maybe Leverkusen.

Don't agree...Sure 50% of Liverpool fans at least are Irish. Would mean as much as winning the league at Anfield

"There are a couple of pairings that would be extremely challenging in terms of finding ways to accommodate everyone who wanted to be in Dublin," Theodoridis said.
"We have gone to reserve Croke Park as a potential viewing venue but it might not be enough." From the BBC website |
