Bundesliga 1 and 2 matches have been unveiled today.
Bayern open against Schalke the weekend of 18th Sept

1BL
http://www.kicker.de/1-bundesliga/spieltag" rel="nofollow - http://www.kicker.de/1-bundesliga/spieltag

2BL
http://www.kicker.de/2-bundesliga/spieltag/2020-21/1" rel="nofollow - http://www.kicker.de/2-bundesliga/spieltag/2020-21/1

No news on if fans will be allowed. I think in Bavaria not before the end of October (at the moment)

3BL fixtures awaiting. 1860 Munich have 2 types of season tickets
„Löwenherz“  - Lion Heart  basically you don't get a refund if fans are not allowed in, they will issue a special jersey which the team will wear once in the season
„Löwenkopf“ - Lion Head  you can apply for a refund

Both variations have the same rights for getting tickets. Even if you choose the second option it doesn't impact your season ticket for 21/22.
3BL teams are far more dependent on match day revenues than 1BL and 2BL.

Looks like there may be some fans allowed in but no away fans until the 2021 at the earliest:

I was hoping to be able to get over during the Christmas markets season in December (don't really care which game(s) at this stage) but not looking too good atm with Germany not appearing on the Irish government's Green list. Cry

In Normal non-covid times. How easy is it to get a ticket for an 1860 game on the day? I spend some time in Rosenheim for work and wouldn't mind watching 1860.

Sorry just saw your post.
Most games you would pick up a ticket outside (unless vs the Red B'tards and Dresden who usually bring a lot of fans).
Latest news is that we are unlikely to get into the Grünwalder Stadion this year.

Yesterday, they had sold 8600 season tickets of which 70% went for the „Löwenherz“  option. They are hoping to reach 10000 (stadium capacity is 15K including about 1200 away)

The season starts this weekend with the 1st round in the Pokal. In ordinary years 3BL teams would have an advantage as we would normally have played 3 or 4 leagues games (whereas 1BL and 2BL teams would still be in pre season).

This year the 3 leagues are all starting back next weekend.

Disappointingly won't be heading to watch 1860 vs Eintracht Frankfurt.

Bayern running riot tonight! Sane has been brilliant.

This is the best team I’ve seen since Pep’s Barca side.

No fans in the stadium - I thought stadiums in Germany were meant to allow 20% capacity from this weekend?

Anyway, it's already looking ominous for everyone else.

Will be better than Sancho and Gnabry i'd say

Gnabry will get more goals than Sane like Sterling did at City but I think he’s the better player out of the three.

It is decided on a federal state basis. The Eastern states tend to be less rigid (Rostock, Berlin etc) while Bavaria only decided yesterday to stop 7K Red B'tards from attending the game last night.

Watched good game this evening in the Hamburg Derby. 2-2 it ended, thought Pauli could have won it but fair result. Obviously not the same without the fans, but decent game still.

Glorious weather today in Munich . Perfect football weather. Should be getting blinded by the sun at the Grünwalder Stadion.
Will make do with a visit to the biergarten instead and follow the game on kickder.de

Thankfully went for the biergarten option. We lost 0 2.

Unsurprisingly Favre gets the boot by Dortmund.
They were a complete mess yesterday at home to Stuttgart.

Not a chance methinks.. though away defeat at Union not a good start.
Watched some of the first half after 1860 and they literally are trying ti walk the ball into the net !

Last game of 2020 for us and 2-2 draw with Wiesbaden after we were 2 down. Upto 2nd but will chance after the remaining games over the weekend.
Sascha "Fussballgott" Mölders at 35 still doing the business. Top scorer with 13 goals. 6 in his last 3 games. As fans missed half our home games which is a pain .

2021 kicks off "away" vs the red Bastards in the Grünwalder on 9th Jan. As my son said tonight hopefully there will be fans for the "home" match in May :->
The optimistic in me hopes (at worse) for the away game vs Türkgücü in the old Olympiastadion in mid April.

Indeed. Looking very tidy.need to keep Karius out of goals.
Bundesliga could do with some serious  internal competition to raise outside interest. Dortmund have tried for a while but haven't managed it.
Rasen Bollix Leipzig might do it

Union are going great.

Bayern are too far ahead. You will need Man City type investment in a club. My advice for any such buyer would be to buy Hamburg. They have all the ingredients to be a powerhouse. Huge city with no heavyweight team.

I love bundesliga. Love getting to games. Love the vibe. They are still proper clubs with proper fans. The EPL is not a good product for proper footy fans.

I especially love the 2 Bundesliga and 3 Liga. Cracking atmospheres.

I miss it it from UK TV. Used to love the ITV highlights show.

Schalke sack their manager and appoint Huub Stevens . It's his 3rd or 4th stint as their manager.

Bayern going for 9 in a row is not good for the league.

As you say, it will be a team like Leipzig that can raise the necessary finances to compete with Bayern that will probably end the run.... but that run is likely to be in double digits!

They don't usually restart until around the 2nd half of January? Probably having to restart earlier to recover the lost weekends from the delayed start to the season - same way the EPL is having to play a load of midweek rounds through January.

"Bayern Munich's Robert Lewandowski set another Bundesliga scoring record as the leaders overcame SC Freiburg.

The Poland striker's early opener saw him become the first player to score 21 goals in the first 16 matches.

Lewandowski, whose 10 goals in the first five games this term also set a record, is on target to surpass Gerd Muller's 40-goal mark set 49 years ago."

Schalke on their 5th coach of the season.
Minus 45 goals from 23 games.
I wonder if a top premiership team thought it was a good idea to buy a centre back from them ?

Good point. Liverpool bought Andy Roberston from Hull after they were relegated and they wouldn't want another one of them on their hands.

It's good business for Liverpool because they opted for a loan signing with an optional permanent fee of 26 mil.

It's low risk and if he doesn't shine they can send him packing. If he does shine then they get him for peanuts.

Think this wasn't a fully edwars signing from what I've heard klopp wanted him after david Wagner coached him last season
As always could be wrong but what I've read and watched klopp wanted him.
I think its dissimilar to Robertson because Robertson was left back and had a decent season with a Hull side that a good end to season. This lad has been woeful all year

I was surprised that Liverpool bought him. Granted they are better equipped to assess him than me.
. IMO he was not going to solve their problems this season without Van D. To take him under his wing.
Maybe better to leave him there on loan until the summer.
Then again Schalke are putrid so that plan was probably a no goer

Watching Leipzig Wolfsburg in the Pokal.
Don't understand offside any more or rather when they flag for it.
Leipzig correctly had a goal chalked off. The player receiving the through ball was clearly offside and play continued. No flag.
He crossed it and it was tucked away. Only then did the flag go up.
Then they needed to wait for var

I see the Old Master outgunned the Young Pretender in Bayern's 4-2 victory in 'Der Klassiker' today:

Robert Lewandowski's hat-trick outdid Erling Braut Haaland's early double as Bayern Munich came from behind to beat Dortmund in a Der Klassiker thriller.

Haaland drove Dortmund ahead from 20 yards after just 74 seconds and then turned home Thorgan Hazard's cut-back.

But Lewandowski steered in Leroy Sane's cross and levelled from the spot after Mahmoud Dahoud fouled Kingsley Coman.

Leon Goretzka drilled Bayern ahead late on before Lewandowski's third confirmed a return to the top of the Bundesliga.

Lewandowski surely HAS to get the Ballon D'Or this year.

I look occasionally on Classicshirts.co.uk for 1860 shirts.
Could almost  buy season ticket for the prices they look for. OK the shirts are old but typically 2nd hand.
I'm assuming they know their market but cannot see many people wanting to pay 200 quid for a second hand 60 shirt ?

Go on ebay if you are looking for vintage 1860 shirts. Classic shirts offer a great service but are overpriced in my opinion but I would take advantage when they provide discount codes every now and again. Still love my 1860 95 shirt I got in Munich back in the day, think they have it at 150

Greed has won, big finance has won. Whatever small role elite clubs still play in the local communities from which they grew is dwarfed now by their position as global brands.

I don't think so . They currently have low 20s 7 day infection rate.
Season ticket holders have to live locally or be sponsors. There will be a Fast Test beforehand.
Former East German states tend to be "keener" not to impose lockdown and get out of it.

Thanks.
I get that in the old East,  is that the AfD influence? I know it is a coalition government there, similar to in the Bundestag, but is their influence why the East seems to be more lockdown sceptic, for want of a better term?

Bayern Munich down to ten men and promptly go 3-0 up against Stuttgart after three goals in the space of five minutes.

Disapprove

These states have typically been more anti being told what to do by the government. The AFd definitely make more progress in these States. The East is viewed as having higher right wing numbers which would go hand in hand with the AFd.

Lewandowski going goal crazy again. First half hat trick.
And Bayern had a player sent off after 10 mins.
Just 4up.

Plenty of goals in the other games so far

Gerd Muller's record of 40 goals in a single Bundesliga season is at risk.

Lewandowki currently on 35 with 8 games to play.

I'm not sure you can compare different eras etc, but I always compared Jimmy Greaves against Muller because their careers overlapped for a decade.

I always thought that Muller's record was slightly superior to JG's, but I note that Greaves scored 41 league goals (in 40 games) in season 1960/61, in a mediocre Chelsea team which finished 12th. And he was only 20 y.o.

I wonder how many the other two would have scored with the modern scientific training and fitness methods, better pitches and much greater protection from referees which Lewansdowski enjoys? (Which is no criticism of RL, btw).

And had Greavesie had the opportunity to play for an all-conquering team like Bayern.

CH

Club massively in debt. Badly run from the tip.
5 managers in one season is an indicator. Disillusioned players not playing well.
Not sure if they still have the same owner who was in trouble a year or so ago for racist comments.
All things just combining around the same time.
They were in the CL 2 years ago.

The only chance would be if the older players take umbrage at been bossed about by a younger, relatively inexperienced manager.

Bremen down, no playoff reprieve like last season. Form has been horrific over the last couple of months. Two of the historical big sides relegated. Will be some B2 next year with some massive clubs in it.

Going to squeeze this in here because it's not worth starting a thread on the Austrian Bundesliga..
A very interesting cup draw in Austria has thrown up a tie featuring Red Bull Salzburg against their phoinex team Austria Salzburg. Be an interesting game for ground hoppers as well as the fans from both clubs. Austria Salzburg play in the third tier of Austrian football. Good article on the sweeper podcast.
