Obviously there is a rule in place that prohibits drinking in stadiums hosting UEFA games but how far does it extend? Reason being , we have a problem getting people into Lansdowne on time because most are squeezing in the last pint . Could the bars in Lansdowne possibly open until say 7:30 for a 7:45 kick off for does the rule fully prohibit drinking ? If we could open the bars till 15 mins before kick off everyone would get in early. The place would be rammed with sings being belted out from the off . . Sounds like a good idea but I'd imagine if possible to sell say up to 7.30 they would already do it. Would possibly also end up like last orders on a Saturday night with people loading up on pints. Could be a big problem this weekend with latecomers as the regulars who normally turn up 5 mins before kickoff will be delayed getting in due to the bigger crowd. ------------- FAIlure Good shot, lovely ............ oh good jaysus |

Sounds like a smart idea alright. The rule only applies to competitive games. When it was proposed to the FAI a while ago they looked at it and decided to open the bars(sometimes) for freindlies. So Yeh defo worth looking at.

The match organiser must ensure that:
a) no public sale or distribution of alcohol is permitted within the stadium or its private
environs;
b) all alcohol-free drinks which are sold or distributed are dispensed in paper or open
plastic containers which cannot be used in a dangerous manner.

Nah it doesnt, it only refers to the match organiser. the scope of the document is: The aim of these regulations is to make the match organiser and participating
associations or clubs aware of their duties and responsibilities before, during and after
a match in order to safeguard the safety and security of everyone present, as well as
of the stadium and its installations. Still worth enquiring about though.... I still cant see how they can sell it on the premium levels with the above regulation in place. So yeh that must be a loophole. So its worth enquiring about
