Speaking of Murphy's, I never knew they did an anime style ad back in the 90s.

It's a nice stout but nothing on Guinness or other craft brewery efforts.

I thought most of them lads were more into the coke-a cola

Yeah it does. The cans are also pint sized as oppose to 500ml which is also good.

The closest thing to a pint from the pub anyway

Bought 4 cans of Islands Edge when it first came out, mainly because there was a free pint glass with it. It was ok but was never going to make any impact on Guinness.

Zero influence I would say. I'd say the bland taste had more to do with it than anything

Thumbs Up I might give it a blast. I'd drink it all the time at home but have never had a good can of it

The main thing is getting about cans is getting the temperature right. Cans from the fridge is not cold enough.

I haven't mastered it yet but you'd need about 7 mins the freezer per can. It's a disaster if the can is too cold.

Nah thats the thing I hate most about the modern draught Guinness in the pub, its way too cold making it very bland and almost tasteless.

It was much nicer 20 years ago before the trend of having the coldest pints possible came about with everyone jumping on the freezer style taps and glasses kept in the fridge in bars.

Rather than fannying about with cans at home Ive always drank bottles of Guinness, its how it was made, sold and drank for 200 odd years before cans and draught came about. Pint bottles of extra stout just chilled are incredibly tasty.

Was in the Flowing Tide 2 weeks ago and the pints were fairly average.

Pints in town 6.50 would be the minimum you would expect so 6.80 is alight.

Reminds me of my work colleague a couple weeks ago on our work night out and he said he drinks Guinness in the pub because it's the cheapest pint but prefers and drinks larger like Heineken at home. It's about 30c difference or something! 6 pints costing you an extra 1.80.

ffs LOL

Whether I'm drinking back home in Mayo where pints are cheaper or in Dublin, there always seems to be that exact difference of 50 cent between the main lagers like Heineken/Carlsberg/Coors and Guinness. Peroni and Moretti tend be in and around €1 dearer than Guinness.
Wings? They're only the band The Beatles could have been.
