The increase in immigration requires an increase in services, services in particular areas provided by immigrants, its circular and all predicated on the target of continual growth to keep the tax coffers full to fund these services and pay for the very generous public and civil service pensions.

To be fair, they are not cross checked against any criminal database. Only checks if they have applied for asylum elsewhere, according to recent FOI requests. We had a recent case of sexual assault where the perpetrator was wanted in numerous countries and we were tipped off. Nothing was ever done in that case.

Any link? Report I'd read before said they were checked against Interpol, hadn't heard that side of it before.

The DOJ confirmed Eurodac is not a criminal database. https://gript.ie/revealed-asylum-seekers-fingerprints-not-checked-against-criminal-databases/#:~:text=But%20now%20we%20know%20that,in%20their%20country%20of%20origin https://gript.ie/irish-refugee-council-remove-asylum-criminal-checks-claim-after-gript-query/ Ps..for those who may have (fair) reservations over the publication, they are bound by same rules as all other media jn the press Council so don't shoot the messenger here

That ended in 2013. Civil servants now pay into their own pensions and have to wait until 66 like everyone else.

Civil servants have paid into their pension, long before 2013. Any civil servant who has joined since 2005 pays both prsi and into their pension with 3 different deductions. Their pension is split between the state pension and then the balance is the remainder of their civil service pension.
