But but but refugees and the housing crisis are not related. Lads seeing as they're not why don't we take in a million refugees. I'm sure everyone on this island will be housed in no time. 🤡

I suppose I'll have to take your word for it. Not saying it's not happening but it does seem unusual to me that someone would have been loving for years in the UK and would swap that for a tent on Mount Street. On the arrival in Belfast, I'm sure that is happening. Just the living in UK for years before it seems more peculiar. [/QUOTESome of them would have been students in Uk whose legal residence permission in Uk is not being renewed. Would love to able to find the stats newstalk obtained under foi. Was an eye opener hearing it Edited by Wheelo - 22 Apr 2024 at 12:24am |

Sorry didn't see your message. I heard it through one of the radio stations. But have seen a lot of interviews with the boys in the tented slum and many were in the UK for a reasonable amount of time. Word obviously spread that we we're filling up our hotel rooms and houses would be given. When the gravy train starts up people will flock in their droves even if already in the EU.

There would also be a small minority coming directly from France in shipping containers. But the vast majority unless they're swimming here are taking boats across the Irish sea from Britain or flying to Belfast. I seen a lot of interviews with those in the tented slum in Dublin and many had been living safely in the UK for months or year's.

I cant find them now but they are out there.
Newstalk had the figures during the week on one of their shows which they said they received from an foi n March - but I can't find them online
Basically the figures showed that only a minority of asylum seekers are coming through the airports - with the rest coming from Northern Ireland and going straight to the IPO (Leo varadker confirmed this was the case last month too) |

@eir, any chance you would provide figures on the number of people coming from the UK after spending years there? Genuinely can't find much on it and wouldn't mind the figures. Sound.

"Other EU countries have banned foreign property buyers to ease housing crises. Should Ireland do the same?". The problem is our government would have to acknowledge the Irish people even exist to do something like this. Non EU countries like Switzerland and New Zealand have strict measures in too. |

It’s quite a competitive field for the thickest c*nt spewing right wing conspiracy nonsense but that lad is up there competing with the worst of them. The son of a multimillionaire, he states that he is self made and was able to retire by age 30. He rails against the corrupt MSM but his idiotic and horrendously unfunny “comedy” was aired at a prime time slot on RTE. That could only have happened with strings being pulled on his behalf as there is no way such sh*t could have been selected based on merit. Hes an entitled shouty brain donor living in an echo chamber.

The government usually are pushed on these matters by less mainstream media because the ones I mentioned don't do their jobs at least not until word is already out there. They give this government a free pass because they're compromised.
