Everyone has been wrong πππππ including the FAI ππππ. On Carsley I feel and still feel that this who the FAI had lined up and it fell through. On Keane I shared media reports that he met them 3 times and that he was probably their plan B after Carsley. Also there is a huge difference between who I think should get it and who will get it. I would have liked Carsley, Keane and Hughton less so. Itβs all a bit of craic anyway. Doesnβt really matter who we get to be honest as we have bang average players in midfield. Too many lads on here take it very seriously. As long as itβs someone who is not too defensive and keeps me entertained it will be grand. Itβs only football after all. Gus turns down The EIRE As novasports.gr informed you from yesterday, Gustavo Poget had an official offer of cooperation from Ireland which he rejected today. Gustavo Poget until Sunday is the coach of the Greek national team. As of Monday, he is free and without a team, so he is open to suggestions in order to make the best decision for his future.
novasports.gr yesterday revealed the proposal of the football federation of Ireland to the Uruguayan coach, which in fact referred to a closed five-year contract.
New information from novasports.gr wants Gustavo Poget to have rejected this proposal, as he could not agree on any specific conditions, while he is willing to wait for the side of the Greek federation as for him the national team of Greece remains his priority, because considers that a lot of work has been done in these two years and solid foundations have been laid for the future. All the managers keep asking can they be paid for holidays not taken and Hill says under no Circumstances is that happening as we cant sanction it when you ask for it.

Imagine getting rejected by Poyet and someone who has never managed at senior level before.
Genuinely embarrassing.

I hate to tell you all, it looks like I was right once again.
Canham spoofed. There is no-one lined up and we are running around with the begging bowl out.

Do we believe Poyet? Doubt he is the guy we are waiting for.

Personally no I don't believe it at all. Wouldn't have wanted him anyway myself. Have heard Janne Andersson being mentioned a bit over the last few days but it's all talk as none of us have a breeze. Wouldn't be shocked if we just stuck with O'Shea, although not a first choice of many

Because the FAI no longer leaks like a sieve, people assume there is literally no manager in place for April.

Mr FAI, I presume you read the reports from Greece and Paul Cooke's comments?

Poyet is a bullsh*tter, wouldn't believe a word he says. If it was true, then its a massive bullet dodged anyway. His record with Greece was only marginally better than Kenny with Ireland... He never beat anyone ranked higher than them. Lost the playoff to Georgia. Drew with Malta and lost to Cyprus etc.. Edited by Bandwagon - 30 Mar 2024 at 3:35pm |

I had assumed the only reason Poyet gets a mention on here is that his Greece beat Ireland twice? But Greece managed by a goat would have beaten Ireland twice!
