You would be hoping Brian Barry Murphy likewise is also learning from the best at Man City

They breed them tougher up the north, better leaders and no nonsense people. Makes them more conducive to management I think.

Write-up on Brian Barry-Murphy in The Times. A little shade thrown on the FAI for not trying to get him involved in the Intl setup earlier.

Leave him to it, hes not up to it as a manger.

Canadian list will prob be the same as our list minus Carsley.

You think? Id have said they'd be looking more at a lot of North American managers, ones who managed in the MLS or Internationally within CONCACAF.

Their association is supposedly ran just as bad if not worse than ours from what Kilbane was saying during the World Cup in 2022 and the Womens in 2023.

They would hire some spoofer rather than the real deal. A proper Dutch coach wouldn't touch this current recruitment crew with a barge pole. Anyone outspoken is out. It will have to be someone they already know. The Sagnol rumours I bet came about because Sagnol's assistant manager is English Dave Webb. Canham would know him either directly or indirectly.

Only saving grace is he showed himself up to be so clueless against the Swiss under a bit of pressure that I’m not sure he’s capable of it against the opposition in question.

I'm genuinely not sure what the game plan was beyond holding on to a 0-0 draw for as long as possible.

Not just that the substitutes, player management did he really think Coleman and Brady to an extent was gonna give him basically back to back 90 mins in a few days off there injuries.

O’Shea might end up being more than good enough in time but he needs to learn his trade elsewhere first. Blatantly doesnt have the experience for this yet.

They are hanging on for Carsley to get disillusioned if/when he doesn't get the England job post Euros.
JOS is likely to be Plan C, Plan B is scramble for a Hughton or Barry for a couple of weeks if Carsley rejects them again (which he probably will).

Canham is still calling the shots and I very much doubt he or the rest of FAI honchos have a Scooby how to recruit a manager they don't already know. It will either be O'Shea as manager or assistant manager. With the "minder" as either manager or assistant manager. It will depend on the profile of whoever they bring onboard..
Willy Sagnol - is their intended target......
